Thermostat M7

Hello everyone!

Has anyone put the Thermostat M7 to 82ºC?

What is the feedback in the winter and summer?

Regards,
Nelson

I just put one in my car. It's still in pieces - I'm waiting for the rigth nozzle size to arrive before I can reassemble. Let you know my results.

I ran one for a year and was very happy with it. Anything to help keep temps down in the S is a big help. Car never ran too cold even in winter,

The OEM ecu will try and run rich if it doesn't come up to temp. And the 180F t-stat will affect this on a stock ecu tune.

Been running mine for 4 or 5 years now with no issues. Some people in the colder climates have set off codes which can be easily cleared but it can be annoying . I would recommend changing them out for the summer months if you are located in that type of climate it is not a big deal to do so. The 180 running temp is still within the proper parameters and the car will not run rich as has been rumored .

I ran one in my last MINI. It was amazing. It really does just keep that awesome "just warmed up" feel.

Randy, do you guys have this for the R56?

I am not sure about a sticky but it is in the Bentley manual. I would guess about a hr for the first timer and much less after that . As I recall the housing itself is only 3 bolts but you have to move a few things to get to it . As I said in my previous post it was four or five years ago and my memory isn't what it used to be I did find this link to a thread here with quite a bit of info.

Hi MoxieMini..

We looked in to the R56 thermostat, but the housing for the unit makes it
impossible to manufacture at a low cost... Sorry.
