Drivetrain Supercharger pulley swap
Supercharger pulley swap
I have a friend with a ALTA 15% supercharger pulley that he says I can take if I replace with a stock one.
My understanding is that the stock supercharger pulley is a one time use; you have to toss it if you remove it. Is this true?
Can the ALTA 15% pulley be removed from one car and installed on another?

The Alta can definitely be swapped, but re-installing the OEM could be difficult/impossible. In the dawn of the new MINI, the procedure called for heating the pulley in an oven to several hundred degrees so that it would slide on over the supercharger spindle. There is significant risk of not getting the pulley properly aligned.

I would think so. It's a tapered fit, I think maybe if you heated it up, got it started, you could draw it on the rest of the way with a bolt in the shaft. Don't know, I'm sure someone has got one back on somewhere!
