WEBB HEAD and NEW to MCS

Well I have always been a fan of forums. I have spent hours reading NAM and its great.. I just bought a Mini after selling my 450hp Dodge 3500. ( Big Change) I love this car its very fun to drive and parts are pretty cheap compared to diesels. ex injectors for my truck cost me 2k .

Well now for the information I need. I am planning on trading some work for a used webb head. It has everything expect a cam. I was wondering if this mod is worth the time if I used the stock cam for now. here is the I see its ported and polished and larger valves. Does anyone have exp with this product or similar. I am planning to take it to a head shop to get surfaced and inspected since it is used.

Now for the parts I am planning on installing when I change the head out..
1. SC pulley
2. MSD Ignition Coil
3. Nology Spark plug Wires
4. Alta Intake
5. OBX header
6. Exhaust
7. ARP HeadStuds
Now with those mods being done what do you think would be my gain in HP?
Should I do something else that would make a big difference?

2nd Injectors. What size should I go with ? I am used to saying 40hp, 80hp, 120hp injectors for diesel. So I see its rated in CC's What is stock CC's What can I go with that would not wash out the cylinders? Should their be any specific gauge that is a must have? ex A/F or Boost If so whats a good place to get a set that matches the interior? Sorry for so many questions but I would like to do it right. Thanks

Randy Webb's cylinder heads were some of the best available in 2005 and 2006. Then RMW and Thumper came out with their head designs that showed a little better #'s, but I'd still be very happy with a Webb head.

I like your list of mods. I would also get a set of colder range plugs and some 400 or 440cc fuel injectors. While you have the head off, you might as well spend $300-$400 more and put in a new RMW/Newman camshaft.

Eventually look on getting a custom RMW or Mynes tune and being in the 215-235whp range.

And welcome to NAM.

Save money for a tune by keeping the OEM coil, wires, and exhaust. The HP gain from a tune is more than what you will get by changing those components. Improved drivability and gas mileage are also reported benefits of a tune (e.g., RMW, Mynes).

I have webbs race car with all his parts. The head is very good. While it's apart you might as well put in a cam. Check with RMW about what would be best for your application. What do plan to do with the car. Street, track. Like athers have said stick with stock coil and wires. Nothing wrong with the stock intake either. Diffinitly need to get larger injectors to take advantage of the head. Also it will need to be tuned for all the upgrades. Again I would recommend jan at RMW he has experience with my car.
I have some 440cc injectors for sale if interested pm me.

Ditto on the wires and coil. Save your $$$ on more worthwhile parts.

Yes I forgot to mention save your $$$ and skip the aftermarket coil and wires.

Periodically search the NAM marketplace for a good deal on a used Alta intake, larger injectors, or a used exhaust.

One of our clubbies has a Webb head and its a good peice that produces good numbers. Keep in mind, you cannot go any larger than 380cc with the injectors without a custom tune

Ditto Vince. Forget the coil and wires. Get a tune from Jan. The Webb head is good and allot better then stock. Talk with Jan about a CAM, Injectors and custom tune. I have a Megan Header, with a custom flex connection and test pipe, I would like to depart with. You'll need a cat to go with it for the street.

Best of luck.

Do I send them the ECU?

Herbie with stock cams do you feel a worth while difference with the webb head? Herbie does that Methanol make a difference you can feel?

Has anyone used the "unichip" I have seen it at minimania.com I see their is a few unichip tuner shops within 1 hr of my location.

Unichip is old school not worth the money anymore. Check for custom tunes for your car. Jan can remote tune your car from a dyno location in your area.

Now for the Unichip seen a few in $250 range

I also e-mailed Jan to see what I can do.
Thanks for the help

Unichips are going cheap because everyone is switching to custom tunes on their car.

like most guys on here, i'd agree with them... take out #2 & #3, not needed.

If you're going with a BVH, then you should do the cam shaft at the same time. With the Newman cam shaft, make sure you know which "version" you're getting b/c there's normal, rough finish, race and super RMW-ultra RACE version. The Nitro Stick 1 (NS1) is gaining popularity b/c it's very cost-effective n provides good gains... do a search and you'll find some results on this cam shaft. There's also the MegaMini cam shaft if you'd like to rev past 7500rpm.

Injectors: you can get the 440 or the 550cc... Mynes recommends the 550cc if you going with BVH/Cam/header exhaust. Here's some more reading material for ya:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-your-mcs.html

JCW exhaust sounds awesome, i would buy one for $500... that's just me..

Well I just got the webb head in.. Does anyone have detailed instructions on R&R the Head?

Now for the 02 Sim. I just traded some stuff I had for a unichip. Will I still need a simulator? I know unichip is old school but I have a dyno and a tuner up the road from me. I just like giving locals some biz. Here is the shop very nice people.. Great price to.. http://horsepowerlogic.com/tuning.html

I should have headers and cam in a week or so.. Lets see how it goes..

The best way to R&R is see if you can get a hold of a technician.. they have developed a LOT of short cuts that save a LOT of time and Hassles. Plan a weekend and take it slow.. it really isnt that hard.. adding the cam at the same time is a time saver.. however , doing that later, again, isnt that hard!! cool?? Heave fun and enjoy your new head and power!! cool??

Just me............................
