TCS System

Guys i have a 2005 mini cooper S converted to a Turbo, if i turn up the boost around 17psi the traction light triggers and can only be reset by turning the engine off then back on. When this happens does the ECU attempt to back off boost etc, or can i just ignore it. The people that mapped my car say it is good for 21psi of boost. I havent turned it up passed 17 at 15 TCS light doesnt trigger.
any HELP please.

Maybe you should ask the people who did the work. That said the stock ECU cant dial back boost, its a SC car in stock form which means the only way to control boost on the fly is to change the RPMs (when in stock form).

As Some Guy said, best to ask the folks who did the install (or created the kit.) Sounds like the ECU is seeing an overboost condition. The ECU can't 'dial back the boost', but it can retard timing and reduce fuel if it thinks the stock SC is malfunctioning.
