R56 Brembo JCW brakes to R50-R53?

Hi guys,

I'd like to know if the Brembo brakes can be fitted on R53-R50. Not only front axle but rear axle as well. Is there any chance they will fit under the X Lite wheels? The Wilwood fron kit is also 310mm and fits fine without spacers in the X Lites, as far as i know.

I am aware of the brake lines, but what about for the rest of the brake kit?

No factory 16s will fit over the R56 JCW Brembo front calipers. There is a thread on here with an R53 running this brake kit.

Guys anyone? Is there any other problem apart from the wheel size? Will they fit front and rear without any modifications/problems?

normal R56 will not fit on the rear without modification, you have come clearance issues with the rear support arm and the location of the brake line hookup on the caliper. I imagine the R56 JCW will have similar issues. I am not saying they won't fit. Theyll just need some creative engineering.

There is discussion about fitting the rears in this thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/wheels-ty...16-brakes.html

Mushadd...can you talk us thro the install? Im planning to get this retrofit done as well (in the near future):

- How easy/hard was the install?
- Will it fit either the R90/OZ Ultraleggera without spacers?
- what extra bits do i need for this install?

In the meantime anyone who has done this install..can you please talk us thro the install? Im planning to get this retrofit done as well (in the near future):

- How easy/hard was the install?
- Will it fit either the R90/OZ Ultraleggera without spacers?
- what extra bits do i need for this install?
- My car is the pre-Sept 2003 - with the banjo clips...what hoses do i need to fit these gucci brakes?
- can anyone confirm if I have to cut the brake dust covers to fit it?

Thanks in advance...

Nazrin, did you look at the MINI2 link I posted? There is a lot of information in that thread.

There are only a few OEM wheels that MINI says are compatible (without spacers). R90 is not one of them.
