Will a 2007 limited slip Trans/diff fit into the 2003
Ok......I have the oppertunity to pick up a 12000km used 6 speed/limited slip diff from an 07.One problem, it has a crack in the housing. I was not aware that the trans and diff were in one unit but thats what I was told. Now my question is will the housing from my 03 work for the swap?
Looking for some help. Thanks.

OK......I have done a bit of phoning around and heard that IF the car is a convertable it will still have the same guts as an R53. Now can you please confirm or not if that is true. If not.......what is it going to run me for a LSD??
Thanks again
Thanks again
This is true but....I'm pretty sure the 02-04 transmissions are slightly different than the 05-06. You might have to swap out the entire transmission...I would do a bit more diggin.
Gearing, Avaliability of LSD, and you would need shifter cables and a new shifter assembly.
Thanks guys. I will do a bit more checking......Rick any idea on the cables.....do I need the 05-06 cables and the same year shifter assembly? And ya, that was the plan with the housing.
What info r u holding out on Jared??lol
Is there a difference between the mine and the 05-06 trannys??

To use an 05-6 trans in an 02-4 car, you need the 05-6 cables and the entire 05-6 shift box assembly. I think the lengths changed.

Make sure the new tranny has the bracket (4)
...and all of these parts.

$1200-$1900 depending what you get and who you buy it from:
Quaife Helical ATB, $1200:

http://enjukuracing.com/quaife-mini-...ag-p-7565.html
Cusco LSD, $1600:

or $1300 direct from the US importer:
https://www.napsusa.com/~napsusac/ca...roducts_id=583
(but their website is half broken, so call them instead.)
The factory and Cusco LSD are clutch-type LSDs. The Quaife is a geared type LSD. You'd drive a Quaife a bit differently from the factory or Cusco LSD -- if you lose 100% traction on one wheel (say, it comes off the ground, or is on ice), you lose traction to the other too. Solution: apply a bit of brake. (Crazy sounding but works.) No need to do this on the Cusco.
Of course another option is to find someone with a factory LSD who is replacing it with a Quaife or Cusco and buy their used LSD.

You would have to get the two side by side, but I would be willing to bet it will.
