Magnaflow Exhaust for 04 MCS

So I just had the Magnaflow exhaust put on my car, and from what I have checked out on youtube, it sounds like a honda (OH NO!) lol. I haven't gotten my car for almost 2 months now (it was in a great rear end accident), and am excited to know the results of my little exhaust mod. Did anyone notice a bit more pickup? I like a meaty sound for cars ( used to having a Vette), but coming from a 1.6, I know I shouldn't expect anything like that, lol. Anyone have any complaints on the Magnaflow? 04 MCS

You will probably gain 5-8hp +/-. One way to make it sound meaner is a header (MegaMynes Straight header) and if you want a bit more meaner go catless. I am running a Megan Racing catless header so far 2 years and coupled with the Borla Race catback it doesn't really sound like your average 1.6L I-4.

yea, I know the header would make it sound alot meaner...anything for the MINI is insanely expensive though, I wanted to do a few things to it, but I have to be at least 12's on the street (want the quickness over speed, which is perfect for my brick shaped car, lol ) so I don't really know if it's worth putting that much money into the car if it won't be as fast as I want it...I had debated on the twurbo kit, which said it held up to 400 hp on stock parts, but i'm just not sure if it will get me where I want. I like ridin out with the cobra's, vette's, sti's, etc. I gotta be able to keep up

I've had my "Flow" for over 4 years with no problems. It was the first mod i did. Like the deep throaty sound. As for more power, most are seeing 8-12 whp.

i just put mine's on today, its a lot louder than my miltek but its a 2.5 all the way through instead of miltek's tapering diameter. all i can say its a lot louder than the miltek, i have no idea if its a plus or a negative still. as for the power, the magnaflow's 2.5 piping is perfect.... but you need to figure how to put the power to the ground with the turbo kit... wide tires and a good suspension on not-so-perfect streets would greatly help you achieve that goal.
