Alta vs. Minspeed exhaust?

Looking into one of these two kits. Is the Alta worth almost $200 more? What about interference issues with my B&M shifter? Resonator issues with Alta? How about any other issues with the Minspeed? Should i go custom one-sided? Thanks in advance.

If I were doing my setup again I would spend the money on a header rather than an exhaust, the header will give you more power than the exhaust will. But for the record I do love my alta exhaust and I have a b&m and it works fine.

I live near Minspeed so i've seen the system - well built, nice sounding (deep not loud) and very unique tip. Best to call and talk w/ Peter. Dyno'ed it showed 8hp gain if i recall correctly. I'd direct the 200 bucks and get an OBX header.

OBX plus Minspeed catback for the same price as Alta.

I loveeeee my alta stealth sportone, and it def gave me a substantial bit of power, i would recommend it, but cant really compare it to anything else,

its well made, easy to install, one sided to the passenger side to offset driver weight, sounds amazing, only loud when putting the hammer down, good power, looks good. Alta has great service

i already have an OBX with Random Tech cat from Helix. I added it last year to my Invidia. my Invidia was bought used and is now probably about four years old and has developed an annoying rattle and a crack. Just looking for something new and don't want to regret my choice later. Alta is always having sales so the price is really only about $100 more than the Minspeed. I like the v-bands on the Alta but am a little discouraged by stories of rattles and such on the Alta unit.

I don't know much about the Alta exhaust so I can't speak to it.

You could drop "Carbonized" a Pm because he is running the Minspeed exhaust. Its sounds great and the tip is really unique.

When I looked at the Minispeed exhaust, I saw for fit it said "including CABRIOS". That means it is pinched down (smaller) in the area where the convertibles have an extra brace. I didn't really care for that. Alta says it wont fit the cabrios and to call them if you have one (they probably have some work around). I went with the Alta. The pipes aren't pinched anywhere. I don't have it installed yet, but I'll being doing a write up of it after the install.

Been running the Minspeed for a long time, fit perfect the first time. Sound great, a bit like those Italian bikes, quiet most of the time, barks when floored, less burble than the one ball after a couple weeks of "brake in" . Don't know the weigth of the Alta but my Minspeed dropped a ton V/S the OEM and a few more # from the "one ball". Some times I keep my "rear seat delete" open just to enjoy the music! No leaks, no rust, no probleme whatsoever. And ho! The tip......Drooooool.
Soon to be matted with a Mynes header!

Check with a custom exhaust shop first. You may be suprised by what they can do and the cost. Had one done and it is hands down a much better value than any exhaust on the market. Magnaflow muffler, resonator, one sided, and very nice sound. You will never get any additional power out of a new exhaust compared to what you have so go for price and sound. And a local warranty.

What Magnaflow muffler did you get and how did you mount it? I'm wondering because of dimensions and I might be replacing my Dinan one-ball.

I don't know exactly what size or model number it was, but it is the same muffler they used for the MINI cat-back. Just a whole lot cheaper.
