Alta Sportone polished oval tip exhaust

I just installed the alta polished sportone with the oval tip and everything installed perfectly. No rattles and the tip was easy to center and line up.

After a "Spririted" drive no rattles and the tip is still centered.
As far as rattles go. I see no where will a rattle occur if you pay attention as your installing it. I do not have a short shifter though.

I really like the sound. Just tooling around the sound is slightly louder than stock, stomp on it and it really sounds nice.

With the discount I got with the Alta 17% sale I couldn't be happier.

Dan

I'm loving mine too...had a rattle (see other thread) where the first v-clamp was resting on the square bracket...not sure why, but I got it fixed now :-)

Watch out the resonator by cat will melt or fall apart internally and cause a rattle that will drive you insane. I had an Alta exhaust for 10k miles and the resonator was TOAST so I am speaking for first hand experience.

Wouldn't that be covered by some sort of warranty?

If you are either running the OEM header or an Alta header it will be covered but if your running anything else you get nothing

I'm confused, I thought he said the resonator by the cat was what messed up, and that resonator is part of the alta exhaust, no? He didn't say the cat was what messed up, he said it was the resonator....

The resonator on the center pipe (connects to the flange that is on the cat which is on the header) of the alta will self destruct internally.

Yeah, I got that part, but I plan on keeping my stock header so it would be covered under warranty if that happens. This isn't my DD anyhow, so 10K miles will take me a couple of years to get to :-)

My Alta Exhaust (non-oval tip) is sitting in the house waiting to be installed. The rear hanger was missing from the box, so I am waiting for them to send me that before I can do the install.

Before ordering the Alta, I read as much as I could about it here (and anywhere else). The resonator issue is a new one to me. It stinks reading this bad news at this time (committed, but not yet installed) :(
