Before I go the Detroit Tunned route, I was thinking of trying the mod myself. Anyone know where to get the spring only? DT wouldn't supply one. Thanks!

 

one of the guys here modded his own . me too to an extent . you carefully open up and stretch the existing spring a bit then adjust the butterfly for optimum closer without sticking . put blue locktight on the butterfly screws . they will loosen up .

 

i should add i only did the butterfly part . i didnt like the dt bpv too abrupt . do a search on modified bpv. it was either dr O or well one of the regs

In the event I cant get a spring, When you stretched yours, what is "a little"?

Are we talking 1/2", 1", 4"?

How did you stretch it, in a vice with pliers?

I figured I could do the butterfly adj no prob (if it even needs it).

I ziptied the valve closed to see if it would help the Yo-Yo, and it did, bit only slghtly, so what i'm really looking for is boost a little earlier.

Better off finding a stiffer spring of the correct length.
