new injector install problem (help please)

i am in the middle of installing my new 550cc injectors
as you can see in the photo , the new ones do not have a grove in them for the retainer clip. is it ok to install them without the clip ? i guess once the fuel rail is bolted down the injectors can not come out , but i would hate to finish the job to find out they spurt gas all over and catch the car on fire.

Care to share for anyone else? I suspect you will have issues when you try to remove the fuel rail again after installed, now you have nothing in place to keep the injector from pulling out of the rail and dumping the fuel?...

jan just said to not bother with the retainer clip. once it is bolted in place they can not come out . if i take the rail off again , i suspect the injectors would stay in the head and you would need to just pull them out after.

looks like i will have some jcw 380cc injectors for sale soon.

jan gave me a temp file to upload to the ecu until our remote tune dyno date is set.

yes it is about 2 hours work at the most . if you do the job make sure you blow all the dirt and dust off from where the injectors go into your head before you pull the fuel rail off.
the first time i did my 380cc injectors i did not notice the dirt behind the injectors as i pulled the rail off. i wound up with crap falling into the block . had to rig up a small tube to a vacume to suck the stuff out.
