New RMW meth trunk kit mounting "cover"
Well for those that saw my last trunk set up in the raw here is the new set up all texture coated to match the trunk. The old mounting plate left the top exposed showing the tank and the pump. This new set up covers the top cleaning things up even more. The texture coat really looks cool and lets it blend right into the boot

Very classy looking, Bryan. Any data on methanol consumption yet? Does the methanol cool the charge at the IC internally (and is burned as fuel) or externally (and is evaporated)? Is it on all the time or only on with boost?

.I'm running a one gallon tank. I'm getting about one gallon to every two fill ups depending on how hard I drive the car. The system runs off injector duty cycle and only starts spraying when it needs to. I spray directly into my intake manifold which both cools the charged air and burns as fuel adding HP.

Looks good, you should add a window slit on the side so you check the fluid level at a glance.

I've been thinking about connecting both tanks in my system. I'm curious - do you know if whoever did this (a) actually tied the tanks together across the bottom, to make effectively one bigger tank or (b) ran feeds from the pump to both tanks - drawing from the two tanks in parallel?

To my understanding they tied the two tanks together making effectively one large tank. Sound like a cool idea.

So why methanol and not ethanol? Is the performance enhancement that much better? With ethanol being routinely added to gasoline, I would think that ethanol availability and cost would be considerations. Is methanol readily available? Has anyone looked at the possible problems with methanol attacking seals, gaskets and such? Are there any seals or gaskets that the methanol comes in contact with? Curious ....

Methanol is usually available where ever race gas is sold. Many speed shops, motorcycle/jet ski/boats shops etc. If you buy it mixed, you can even mail order it in.
The way the fluid is injected into the engine, it usually goes straight into the intake track and then into the cylinder. In light concentrations and usage it would generally pose no problems. In race engines that run on 100% methanol( no gasoline) the cylinder walls can get washed and cause excessive wear, so top-end lubricants are added to the methanol. In secondary injection systems it is generally preferred to use 99.9% pure methanol, but some systems are more tolerant to impurities than others.
Yes, methanol is a dangerous substance, you should avoid getting it on your skin and treat it as a hazardous substance.....but then again so is gasoline and many other items we deal with everyday. Hell, too much water will kill you but that's another story........

Thanks for education Mr. Wizard
.
I re-mounted my high speed valve to a little better location. It's now screwed onto the ECU cover. The hose no longer hit the hood Jeff

Here is the new cover
with LED back lighting so you can see the fuel level.
