1 week and no CEL for me.
If Oxtox' car only showed CEL once and only during the use of cruise control, do you think that the Siemens ECU has slightly different parameters and sensitivty on this mode? He said it never came back since clearing it with a tool. Did it finally re-learn and adapt the new hardware?

The bottom line is that this product sounds and performs.

I, too, am one of the first to receive, install and wring out one of Mike's straight headers. I had the header JET-HOT coated. The installation was ez due to the two-piece construction. (K-HUEVO suggested using studs at each end and it really helped.) The fit, fabrication and finish was flawless. It mated to my MILLTEK cat-back without incident. The sound when cruising at steady throttle is pleasant without interfering with conversation or radio. Get on the throttle and you'll hear a different kind of "music"! It's absolutely euphoric! I re-torqued the new header bolts after a couple of heat cycles, then headed down to Carolina Motorsports Park to instruct for a PCA DE event. The header gave me quicker throttle response and my "butt dyno" tells me I have more power. In the instructor run group, I was hanging with cars that would have normally passed me. Even the late model Porsche people were surprised. After about 150 track miles, it hasn't thrown any codes. All I did this a.m. was to remove the heat shield and re-torque the header bolts. Only 2-3 required a little snugging up. I am one happy camper with the MEGA-MYNES Header! Now I need to add it to my "sig".

may sound like an idiot's question but why do you keep re-torquing the header bolts?

the header is near an extreme heat source. When the header is first put on, it's in a 'cold' state. After a few heat cycles, the metal will expand/contract and may back itself loose a bit in the process. It's good practice to retorque and double-check on the bolts after a few heat cycles... same holds true on the v-band nut

I am loving mine and my ears are adopting to the 'Euphoric Sound'. All users report the same experiences: >Throttle Response from low to high rpm & More Power. How much more if it has been tuned? I'll save that after a cam install.

MM HEADERS

PEOPLE of NAM... my MINI has just seen the light

the light of other cars behind me that is...

To make this as direct as possible:

1- My MINI was running like crap with limp mod coming all the time when I speed up.

2- MINI suggested to replace half the car at the cost of $6000 "only" in order to fix the problem.

3- Non of anyone I asked could help me with this issue.

4- Replaced many parts and took many performance parts off, but nothing.

5- My shop detects something in the header and suggest a new one.

6- Three weeks later, I receive a MM header with heat coating and bolt it on.

7- Car runs like a ****.

7- Car runs like a **** on fire.

7- Car runs like a **** on fire and add a bit of nitro

8- Codes are all gone... NOOOOOO COOOODEEEES FINALLYYYYY

9- The sound of the header mated to the JCW exhaust makes me wanna leave work and cruise around... (the burble is crisp and amazing)

10- my butt dyno knows nothing... but it's definitely stuck back in the seat

... Props to Mike@Mynes for looking after me and helping me with this issue ASAP ... Top service, on time and great follow up

Now, my mini is back and better than ever

Ca$per, let me know how the Jet-Black coating holds up and keep us posted

This is how it looks before the install... Take some pics after a week of driving and we'll compare the 'before' and 'after' :D ... Thanks for the feedback

I'm definitely interested in seeing how the Jet-Black Coating holds up. For longevity, does the Jet-Black coating differ much from the Sterling Silver? I see the 100F temp deifference between the 2, but does that extra 100F make that large a difference?

it's more about personal color preference. The Extreme Sterling and Jet-black offer pretty equal level of heat resistance. We've used Extreme Sterling on our turbo manifolds and they are awesome!!!

You guys running with the Jet-black coating, pls report back your experience.

Hey ca$per, what codes where you throwing? Has the OE header gone through a more through inspection to see what the issue was? (so others can with the same issue can know when it's time to use the excuse for upgrades?)

Motor On, I had the problems posted before https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ue-please.html

but no responses were made and I eventually deleted my posts since no one is interested. I had later limited my codes to P0108 and P0267 and limp mod coming on every time I floor it. The dealer previously suggested changing the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor, T-MAP Sensor, MAP sensor, Exhaust Sensor, ABS Sensor and the list goes on...

I then later got my hands on a BMW scanning tool through a shop here and limited the codes by checking to the above mentioned. After I changed the Headers, all the problems went bye bye and I am now a happy camper

till I changed the Headers, no one knew what the problem was and the fixation was just by pure luck that my mechanic did it the old school way by checking on every item physically

cheers,

Thanks for the info!

I'm totally waiting to here about impressions of the Jet-Black coating, as that is something tickling my fancy.

Another update:
Almost a month now and 700 miles of city, highway, and spirited driving, mine is still OK. There are no signs of leak or rubbing or rattle. I checked the bolts last weekend and all is tight. There were only 2 bolts that needed a just bit of torqueing after few heat cycles (2 days in use). The cruising sound is moderately good and not annoying at all but when you floor it, that's when it barks! It's a good 'bark' to the enthusiasts. The only negative comment so far is from the wife because I wake her up when I go to work at 6:00 AM
