Mahle 142 is a proprietary alloy similar to that of 4032. Stock VR6 pistons are cast however and 500+whp can be had on the stock bottom end with a headspacer. On a motor that wasn't boosted from the factory to boot.

Is there a ETKA type of program available for MINI's? I'm curious to see who the supplier/what the composition of stock MINI S internals are.
Hm, I didn't know the 19mm pin rods were forged too. Whoops. I think 20mm (AMU/BEA) ones are though. Slightly different.

as for mtuning3's so-called "mods and graphs?" Coopman has no "jurisdiction." He'll find him and make him squeal! I know the squealers when I see them

Can you provide us with where you picked up those components to build your intake tube..

What's the size of your exhaust down tube?

And forged rods and pistons have nothing to do with the noise on idle. The FSI injectors are really loud anyway, more likely that and a slight lack of oil to the head when cold.

Don't hate on cast parts, forged isn't necessarily necessary. People going 9s on VW AEG cranks that are cast. Supras have cast pistons. 1.8ts have cast pistons and there are several people in the 600whp range with oem pistons.
Atp tech guys say they dyno and can "only" get 270 whp but I don't think they do any other mods.

How about learning how to spell check, it really hurts my head to read your horrible attempt at english. Seriously spell check, it is free, and it helps everyone.

Just do it and be done with it. You'll have the ability to tune every aspect of it. You just spent a few grand on the turbo kit, so spend a few more on the standalone to make it work right. In the end, I think you'll be much happier.

He'll just disappear for a few days then not answer any questions when he randomly reappears with his one sentence return.

ok coopman i installed the atp kit last week. -not a drop in kit- anyway it just dumps all the boost and will only do 8 psi. Is there a dump valve under the intake manifold that you closed or what.

the atp turbo kit is set at 15 psi on the wasgate you are seing only 8 psi because your tps is closing to prevent damage and you probaly get fault code stored in the ecu now witch reduce the boost thru the tps

I never said anything about drop in kit if you read all my posts but it wasnt anything out of the ordinary as far as fitting new parts to a car goes. You will need some sort of tuning to properly run the turbo.
Have you got any pics and maybe a vid of your setup ?
