i stand corrected. i did not know they can hold that. they do make more noise at cold start due to the fact that they expand and contract more in hot and cold

That's really not a problem anymore with modern forged pistons. Automakers discovered that by increasing the amount of silicon in the forgings, they could reduce the expansion/contraction rate of the pistons. That way, they don't have to design in extra clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall, so you don't get the "piston slap" sound when the engine's cold.

Some of the high-end BMW engines and Mercedes AMG engines use forged pistons, and the customers buying those cars likely wouldn't tolerate their pistons rattling around until the car's warmed up.

Everyone always seems to forget this, but any plans to lower the compression ratio?

No thats NOT why the car makes that horrible noise when cold.. That is clearly a timing chain/tensioner issue (http://www.motoringfile.com/2008/07/...al-fix-coming/). The new fix is supposedly here and actually solves the problem 'The PuMA measure number is 10686850-12 and it was released on the 24/02/09,so it’s pretty new.'
And 375whp from a gt28rs Unlucky on your kit not fitting properly.. Mine lines up perfect but then again my kit was checked by CR Turbos

Direct injection car, no need.

Also, the ATP parts are notorious for needing a little tweaking in the VW world. They fit, just not so well. Its not the end of the world.

Check your facts coopman7, 5 bolt non vband adapter here. Don't know how you can defend a product with such poor welds.

Can you show the contents of your kit?

Im interested in the design of your Air Inlet pipe - could you give more info?

So do you feel comfortable running 25lbs of boost through it? I would think not.

MINI even felt it was necessary to lower it with the factory JCW.

Thats what water/meth is for. And I plan on running 25psi on a huge turbo on my other car with oem pistons with no issues. It's not as deadly as it seems.

mtuning3- I'll be VERY VERY surprised if you make 300whp on 20psi. I think it's going to take a good bit more than that. I say you make 275whp if you're lucky.

And please get a hood pic and some real datalogs instead of the spool claims.

Are you just going to show us pictures with no details? How about some videos or dyno sheets to show us if its worth it. For someone who can make all those parts you seem very quiet about the kit.
