Just wanted it to be clear that I had an RMW dyno tune in Dallas last year, and was very happy with it--Jan was able to smooth the power curve on my car and it was a much improved drive as a result.
Installing the cam and the straight exhaust were significant enough mods that a new tune was in order. The Mynes opportunity was just too good to be true, and I'm very glad to have done it. The car has more power, and pulls very hard now.
Overall, my experience with dyno tunes has been very positive. I can highly recommend them. Both Jan, and Mike's Mynes team were very professional and it was great to have my car worked on by these people.
The Mini world is made all that much better by having more choices, especially in these tough economic times when choices are going out of business every day...

Hey Phil, do you only go to tunes with heart breaker dynos? The Dynapac in Dallas at the RMW tune was estimated at 15% on the low side, and it seems like this one maybe even more like 17% off (just an educated guess). I am sure Mike has a better guesstimate.

Anyway, does anybody ever calibrate these things? It would seem like it should be a Preventative Maintenance SOP.

For the MINI owner though, the delta is all that matters, and you guys sure pulled some impressive improvements. Congrats!

So I was wondering what else I can do to make my car even faster. After the tune my car is so much faster and now I can give my brother a good fight. He has a 335. That is not enough for me. I would like to be able to kick his ***. Maybe I'm asking for too much.

If I slap a big valve ported head and port the SC would I gain enough to beat him?

A BVH definitely makes a difference. mdbsat and I have both driven a vehicle so equipped and it is impressive.

Dunno but just make sure he doesn't surprise you one day by tuning his car.

Turbo means "mucho dinero"! Can I expect big gains with a BVH and supercharger porting. Does the porting actually give any gains. Will it at least make it more efficient?

porting the supercharger isnt going to do you much, but the head will be fantastic.
