Drivetrain Lightweight flywheel + aftermarket clutch: which one?
They List out for $1590 Clutch and flywheel as a combo.
I looked at the OS when replacing my UUC (rebadged Fidanza) fly and clutch. My problem was for my application tje clamping force just isn't there, but for a more normal MINI it will probably be the best out there. Good to hear the positive feedback.
To answer the question, it is single plate and similar to the twin plate systems ala' CM FX-600 and 800. Just lower clamping force.
Have the prices come down on the Exedy that much? When I was looking they were like $900+. The CM was like $1850 list, for both fly and clutch but can be had for a few Ben's less.
Overall I am extremely happy with the CM. It takes some patience as break in is a bear, but once there take up is smooth and not on/pff. Very driveable on a daily basis. You do need to be cautious with rev match as itis unspring and can transmit significant force back along the input shaft to the tranny and can sheer the indexing splines on the input shaft if you are stupid with it...And yes, it rattles like a Yugo, but you get used to it.....
