As noted above. RMW sells Newman cams so in turn, they are newman cams with RMW name on it.

o'really?

Thats not what i been hearing from David Newman himself. Why pay RMW for someone else's part when you can get it straight from the manufacturer for $100+ less

Here's the owners email

Hello
You can buy direct from us. The price for any BMW/Mini Cam including freight to the USA would be £210.00 ($291.42). Delivery would be 5 to 7 days

Hi Larry,
You will have to buy your cam from RMW.
He is my sole distributor to the States.
I have sold out of cams here and he has some more cams flying out to him

Ken Newman

odd. i never seen the other email your speaking about though.

my point was to say its not a rmw cam but rather a newman cam. Putting your name on someone elses hard work doesnt make it your own.

That's right...RMW sells Newman Cams..I tot this issue was done and dusted...

Ok guys, im not from the States and I got my Newman straight from the OEM (and yes its alot cheaper if you go straight) but my question to you guys is this, when you bought the Newman Cam from RMW...how was the packaging?
Mine came in a wonderful Newman box...

Plain brown box. Who really cares. Funny thing I can't remember General Motors telling everyone the Metro was a Suzuki or the Tracker being the same thing or even the Aveo being a Daewoo.
Get over it.

Get over it.
The consumer who knows they can save money does id think. and since you dont "remember". GM owns all those companies you just mentions. RMW doesnt own newmans .

Why????

Here is one reason.

Jan sold a stock Newman to a customer who had his local "Mini" shop do the install. On start up something was wrong. No power??? They checked everything and in the end it was a screwed up grind. They called Jan (RMW) who overnighted a new cam at his cost. The next day the cam was replaced and power was made and a happy customer drove home.

How do you think this would have played out if you purchased direct???

My understanding is you can't as of now.

Who is "we" Randy??

You guys have no shop nor do you do installs of any kind. Are you trying to say you know of a customer of yours who purchased a cam direct and had it installed at Johnny's (West Coast Mini)?

Ive done pleanty of cam installs in my time and that story would be #1 on the "i never seen that before list" but i guess like the saying goes. always a first for everything.

all i got out of your story was it was "convenient" to get another part. but like i said...that has to be a VERY rare situation. money saved is money saved in my eyes reguardless. putting your name on something that isnt yours is still baffling. I know w/e i say will be rebutted with something else to smoke screen the point at hand. we all know you guys are buddies so ill leave it be i guess.

Pound sand buddy!

The story is true. Feel free to call Helix if you like.

As for putting a name on something here is a list of parts sellers who call items their own but do not in any way manufacture them.

M7 DFIC
M7 Coilovers

Alta CAI
Alta Sway Bar

Detroit Tuned Big Brake kit
DT 15% pulley

Texas Speed works Big Brake kit
Texas Speed works engine dampener

Helix rear adjustable control arms
Helix short shifter

I could do this all night from Mini Vendor to Mini vendor finding items they call theirs but really they are made by someone else.

Do any of them tell you the manufacturers name, address and web site??????????????????????

OF COURSE THEY DON'T BECOUSE THEY ARE RUNNING A BUISNESS TO MAKE MONEY.

They may have designed the product themselves, contracted out the design or just re-bagged an existing product with their name. That's how business works bud plain and simple. These guys are not investing in manufacturing equipment in the hopes of making a killing selling Mini parts!! Most barely make a decent living and have real jobs to pay the bills.

Does this make make the product bad? No

Does this mean you shouldn't buy it? No

They did the work to find it and then form a business partnership with the manufacturer to bring it to market. They also have to take calls from guys like you and answer every question and deal with every problem you might have. They also have to deal with warranty issues.

Do you get at all what I am telling you??

Oh and yes, I am a friend of Jan's so really you shouldn't believe anything coming out of my mouth. I'm just a fan boy after all.

Yes that is exactly correct. We sold him the head , he purchased the cam direct from Newman and we made the arrangements for him to drive to So Cal and have Johnny install the head. Then we had him set up to have a tune done by Hubie . I wasn't implying that I personally turned the wrenches , hell I do enough work on my own car I don't look for more

I lol everytime you try sticking up for Jan like you guys are married. Just curious but did you guys grow up together?....Did you know each other before coming on this site?....or did you just leech onto him to get the good deals as he blew smoke up your *** and still feel the need to stick by him. It's a known fact that he doesnt know what he's doing and stole A LOT of peoples ideas and called them his own just like Emile's maps. He needed you to get his Dimsport equipment through the audio shop b/c they wouldnt deal with him direct and wanted nothing to do with him. I found that out right after his bullsh&t excuses pilled up when i was trying to get MY re-tune for alsmot a year b/c the first one was horrible. I called Dimsport to see what was up b/c he was blaming their equipment and software over n over again and they laughed at me and told me what the deal was. Lets not forgot Hubies design for the head and Oscar for the rotrex system. I guess all the venders you named above did that to, right?

As for the comment "guys like me". are you kidding me. I've done EVERYTHING on ANY car I've owned, and built pleanty cars for other people that NEVER blew up. Can you say the same? I'm def not "that guy" to back down so you barked up the wrong tree. I sat back for a long time on this site watching how people were treated and then blown off lilke they were nothing and at the sametime the person doing that to them was treated like a freaking saint. Cmon...your sweet talk doesnt work for me and 90% of the site.

This has gone way off topic which im sorry for so if you like to continue, please feel free to PM me anytime.
