My M7 OCC filling fast...

Hi Everyone,
Today, I checked my OCC to see the level of the oil in the catch. I found that the oil level has come to the ~1/2. also it has a dirty oil inside it
It has been installed for 1300 miles. Is that a normal thing?? BTW I checked the oil level of the car, it needs a little more oil. Help me
Thanks from now.

Are you sure you routed the can right? I've had mine on now for more than 3000 miles and there is almost nothing showing thus far.

It all depends on driving style, habits and weather conditions of your area.

The tuner shop routed, it is not the first time he installed it. Thus I don't think there is a problem. Actually I drive normal but weekend fast.

Do a search on OCC and you will see that there are two ways to connect the OCC. If you route it in between the PVC and the gray hose you will only accumulate oil, usually very little. If you run it the other way you will get oil and water. The consensus is that the first way is the best. Some people actually use two OCC, one for either side.

The OCC was installed as the install guide shows. So is that a normal thing to get that much oil?

I think you are under the assumption that the install instructions you received is the correct way to install the OCC. There is a lot of debate on this. Do the search for all the information and make your own decision.

I currently run two as mentioned above. I found when running one, it would fill up rather quickly in the winter months. When it was relatively cold. Was emptying every other week (~ 1500 miles). & it was mainly water - not much oil at all. Because if would get so full, and it was very cold out - on time I forgot to empty it, and it froze, thus causing back pressure in the valve cover, which caused the gasket to fail.

Since I've switched to two OCC's - that problem is gone, and the catch (if there is one) is all oil.

M7 is a vendor that supplies aftermarket parts and accessories. Can be found under Vendor Directory.
