Supersprint exhaust

Do I did all the searches, there's only 8 pages worth of Supersprint Exhaust searches and most of them weren't even about the Supersprint. It seems this exhaust isn't that popular. I've seen the motoringfile review but what to get another opinion. Is it not a widespread exhaust because of the price or because of the sound notes?

I'm asking because I know a guy that can let go of one for 200 to 300.

Back when it came out it was pricey. It will sound good but on the loud side.

200-300 and in good shape - go for it.

FWIW I have a Suprsprint system on my Audi A4 for past 100K miles. Wonderful quality, great throaty purr and not at all loud - again, that is on an audi 1.8t and the turbo tends to quell some exhaust sound. May be louder on the mini. That is a great price if in good shape.

Supersprint makes a nice product and has been the system that others have knocked off if that tells you anything . If you can get it at that low of a price it is well worth the chance that it MAY be a bit on the loud side.

Haha, no header.. I wish...

Really?? Is it on the loud side? From what I've heard, people claims it's on the quiet side...

BTW the guy told me that he has Magnaflow Tips on them. What do you guys think? I have pics. You guys be the judge on how the "condition" is. I personally think it has a lot of swirls. I was wondering if I can do a rattle can job, paint it black and make it stealth. I haven't seen it in person yet, but what should I look for? Rust? Wielding marks? Scrapes?

Looks to be in good shape. If it is in as good of shape as it appears, it is a GREAT deal.

You are correct as to the reason it is not so common: the price was too high when it came out for the R53. BTW, the header was copied in the OBX "knock-off". The Magnaflow tips are an interesting variation. I'd be curious about that.

Picked it up today. It's not a full system, but it's still a great deal for supersprint. Going to get some heat resistant black paint and some sandpaper and stealth it today. Here are pics:

I think the Y Connecting pipe was modded with. I don't think it should be a problem...

So worked on a lot of my car stuff today. Here's one thing I got to do...

Rubbed down with some sandpaper pads. Cleaned and then sprayed with some Rust-oleum high heat black spray paint. Good for up to 1200 degrees.

Don't mind the wet spots, still drying.

Nice job, well worth your investment. I could never see the reason for having the entire exhaust system polished . The tips perhaps but as for everything else I would rather see that expense put into rather than on the parts.
