Mine gave up after 27k miles in 2 1/2 years and four track days. This is with all basic bolt-ons and tuned, with stock internals and stock cylinder head.

go to here and read up..........
it's good info why the fluid damper is much better than the rubber that's used in the stocker
...because in your post above, you posted the link to the company...

...actually the same link I posted here...
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...12-post60.html

...in this thread...
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ing-crank.html

...sorry, but i'm just curious if it is actually made by Fluidampr®...which would be pretty cool.

It is a fluid damper but not made by the company the link was posted to

That's cool...thanks for clearing that up.

Do you have any idea how much it will be?

we try to fix areas that have problems and this one seems to be a big one with high hp or just fatigue issues over time

Can't wait to see this on the market.

In dealing with engines over the years that have bad harmonics and load spikes, these engines only keep running because of fluid style dampers. This is a big plus to see this applied to our Mini's.

Fast spin up in nice, but longevity and torque always prevail.

Jan for taking it to the next level.

it's been a long time coming, I have been trying to get someone to make one for quite some time. Who said the bad economy isn't good? LOL

This yr I found plenty of manufacturers that are ready NOW to make custom parts for us since times have slowed

Rather than "what's it weigh," the appropriate question would be "what's the rotational inertia compared to stock?"

It could easily weigh more but create less parasitic drag, if much of the weight was nearer the axis with an aluminum pulley, instead of the heavy stamped-steel outer pulley rim of the OEM part.

So how's it compare? A simple roll down an inclined ramp would easily tell the tale, assuming that the O.D. is the same...

Dampner info.

GOD!! I love NAM
Uninformed people like myself can garner a serious education from you experienced and professional People/Vendors.
I love my Mini (Tonka) and plan on keeping it as long as possible.
This dampner is a small part playing a very significant role.
People/Vendors (in my experience) are not so forward with this kind of info.
I get to learn just about everything there is to know about the Mini for free.
Hell even NAM is free. This place is an Oasis of information for the MINI novice.

Thanks not just to Jan, but to all.

Funny how fast small unimportant jobs become important ones.

Jan is the pump failure you have seen from cracking of the rings or just beating them selves to death?

Thanks, I kind of suspected that was the case after looking at the pump construction.

It would be interesting if ATI would come out with a Super Damper for our application.

For those that want to look here is the link.

The rubber on my stock pulley is starting to crack, I hope you can get the price to at least match the OEM replacement.

I'm gonna ask it before anyone else asks it. I know the answer but...

Any plans for oversize?

I know what an oversize diameter pulley does and know that for your product an oversize doesn't really fit the lineup but for those who are likely to stop before tearing the top end of their motor apart it would be some nice insurance and a bit of a bump in boost.

I'm sure it could be done but the pricing would be close to double having to run that many pulley's. These aren't cheap to make like an aluminum billet one.
