Poly Engine Mount Bushings

Has anyone installed the newer round engine mount bushings from Mini Madness. All of the posts I see refer to the triangle ones which were used on the earlier R56. If you have the round mounts how did you remove the rubber OEM inserts? It looks to be tuff to cut it out.

Help as always is appreicated

I have the round one on my car. You don't cut out the original mount, you just slip the poly one in the gaps -- takes maybe 15 minutes and most of that time is spent jacking up the car and placing jack stands.

....and I love the way it takes up the slack so the engine doesn't rock when you let the clutch out -- you get a much nicer take-off.

Lots of info here:

Looks like 08 and later use the round ones, you should look under your car to be sure.

I like mine!

You'll love the bushings. There's a definite improvement! For the money, you can't go wrong!

some later 07 models have the round as well... 08-and up are all round.

if you have an 07 jack up your car and look before ordering.

Ive had these installed for a few weeks now and they are awesome! The power delivery is definitely more direct. It feels like the car has more power because there is less play in the drivetrain. Consequently its even easier to break traction if you are a little too anxious with the gas. Ulitimately, it equals more fun.

there is a slight increase in vibration when in the lower rps while the clutch is engaging (via steering wheel). Personally i like the feedback it helps me get a better idea of what the clutch/engine is doing. Otherwise there is no noticeable vibrations in the cabin.

My 07 has the triangular mount. I liked the look of the new NM engineering inserts for the 'round' mount and also wanted to fit inserts to a 'new' mount so ordered both Mount has arrived at £20, inserts should arrive with me ( UK ) end next week

Gonna be busy next week now, fitting the above, fitting CF steering wheel spokes, fitting R56 JCW Full leather Recaros, fitting new matte black R105's ( custom polished to a gloss finish )with brand new RE050 RF tyres and maybe the JCW BOV upgrade too
