Exhaust Idea... Will it be better?

Okay with the skunk2 or invidia exhaust, there is a "y" pipe... My question is, does this split in the exhaust cost precious gas velocity? What if I were to modify it to only come out one side with 1 tip? should I expect to see a gain? I am thinking about doing this with my skunk 2 exhaust as i think this split in piping just cools the gas too fast and i am losing power because of it... Any ideas/insight? TY in advance!

so i guess basically like 1 balling a skunk 2 exhaust...LOL just different sized piping and removing one muffler side instead of a resonator

Very true mr Chili... I will PROBABLY end up doing this once I get back and maybe do header wrapping and a cam or a water/meth kit... will give dyno results! If i get to the 215-220whp range on the dynapack with no head... ill be somewhat happy! (at 205whp after jans tune)... I expect such results! I was also maybe thinking of other ways to squeeze hp... will let you know how and what works!

of course if you wanted to go all out (and i mean that) you could do the battery re-locate, and use the parts from the skunk 2 and make a straight through exhaust to 1 tip. would increase air flow and sound by a good bit. and save you weight from the small battery, in material lost from getting rid of the battery box, and in pipe weight from eliminating a lil extra exhaust pipe.

This is exactly who I was going to recommend. Go to Mike's Muffler and Mike (the owner) will take care of you. He's also got an older guy working with him (Jimmy) who knows $h!t loads about exhaust systems as well, and does great work. Jimmy has done 4 exhaust systems for me so far, all were on American muscle cars.

When you're ready to get a full tilt RMW exhaust, talk to Jan and he'll send you to his exhaust guy who isn't too far either.

Oh...and Myke, it's 258whp, not 255! I'm sure it's more now that the engine has been broken in, and it's got a little something to cool the charged air.
Enjoy Hawaii while you're there!
