What about relocating it? Maybe making a custom condenser to fit another location?

I'm not sure where you would mount it...all vehicle manufacturers put it in front of the radiator for airflow reasons.
I am also not sure on the minimum size requirement of the condenser to be able to give the optimum cooling for any given system. The MINI one is pretty decent size...and I would imagine a custom one, if not placed directly in the airflow path, would have to be bigger/thicker(?) to get the same cooling as the stock one in the stock location.

you know you could do a crazy mod, get rid of those "horns" for the final production, and some how pipe the AC condenser up to where the intercooler used to be. basically swap the places they were. AC would not work as well, but at least you would have some. ( maybe have design for the condenser similar to the straight through design on the m7 dfic) idk if it would work, but its an idea.

Being able to walk an e46 in Los Angeles would be great considering the amount of uptight bozos that drive them out here. They give the cool e46 drivers out here a bad name.

Say if I were to relocate the TMIC to a FMIC without removing the A/C would the FMIC block/restrict air to both the Radiator and A/C? If so, how much would it affect the engine?

How about notching the top of the bumper and the impact bar, and using a single sided core with a pair of end tanks that will flow with the contour of the grille?

You could even use oval charge pipes if it was that tight against the hood or grille...

Unless I want to go for over 250 again, i'm just gonna look for an old Alta IC and run meth.

Smart guy . I think it can be done while still keeping the AC in place. The oval charge pipes are the key .

Here ya go: Alta A2A

The seller looks a little iffy with zero posts and no pictures but he's got an email address to contact with. Hope this helps...I'm always willing to help a little to witness progress in performance.

Air-con... meh! The beauty of living in the UK, haven't had air-con for some time as took it out to save weight for the track and strip. Car is still very much a daily driver though. Reason for going FMIC was the temps on track were just getting too high and so I was losing power.

On cruise the FMIC hovers between ambient and ambient +1C whereas the top mount was + 8C average. Not got it on track yet but will be re-mapping the car on Tuesday so will be publishing a full report on MiniTorque then with dyno graphs showing the car with top mount vs FMIC and plenty of pics.

Spec of the engine is:

- RMW Head
- RMW 440c Injectors
- 1320 Camshaft
- GRS Front Mount
- 1320 Custom Remap
- JCW CAI (flap removed)
- Alta V2 17% Pulley
- Janspeed Manifold (de-cat)
- Borla Exhaust
- NGK Spark Plugs
- RMW Oil Sump Baffle

If you plug the pressure switch back in to the harness, the fan will function like normal and stage 1 will only come on when it's supposed to.
Right now the fan is running at stage 2(as if the A/C were on). This may save you from premature fan failure.

BTW, thanks for posting the TMIC vs FMIC chart.
