Hey guys!

so i just changed my oil, put in 5qts (randy said it was OK) of RP 5W-30, checked my dipstick (the yellow plastic rectangular prism one std on the MCS) and its JUST up to the top dot

is that too much?

if so, how do i drain just a little bit,
i only put in 5, when the said amt is 4.7

im taking a 280mile drive tomorrow first thing and want to know if itll be alright

If you put in 5 qts you should be fine.

 

Indeed it is.

It will go through a small amount over the entire change interval, so it's ok.

 

even if you put in 5 quarts, think of the oil left in those 5 bottles that takes forever to drip out. Its probably close to 4.7 in your engine.

 

Some guys intentionally run an extra half quart or so of oil for autox or track days. You should be just fine.
