Revolution Mini Works New Header for standard catbacks

Here is a sneak peak............

we thought some wanted something quieter and not so much for the race track but still something that will give better performance than other headers on the market. Well, here it is

This will allow you to run the RMW Big Valve head with no restriction problems and yet run your quiet catback

She is at the tube bender as we speak.... watch for the first to roll off the masters jig early next week

I know the costs of the other parts sourced but not yet the final tube bending as the tubes will be mandrel bent like our race header

like I said before the other aftermarket headers don't fit the ports on our head very well so we decided to make something that is a liveable compromise over our race header.

quiet is a relative term

I still remember when I met you how "Quiet" you kept telling me my Invidia with OBX was.

I was until I heard your race exhaust...

it's funny though as everyone at the track says how good it sounds

it does.... I love the sound of it when you are knee deep in blowing past that M3 in the straight away

looks like a really nice piece, especially diggin the quality flex joint

a few ?'s
1) so this is best fit with the RMW head but would there be any drawbacks to using a stock head with this manifold?
2) that a high flow cat?
2a) options for oem cat usage?
2b) options for test pipe? (for track use only of course)

thanks

2) that a high flow cat? yes it is
2a) options for oem cat usage? not at this time,
2b) options for test pipe? (for track use only of course) I know people won't believe this but our dyno testing has shown a loss of torque without the cat
there is a happy medium for producing big torque and we have found it with our exhaust/cam/head systems. We have not seen one car break 200ft lbs of torque anywhere else

thanks

hope this helps

Would be nice to see one with a removable cat. Makes it easier to inspect and replace. I have blown a hole in one cat already, and dropping it out and replacing it with another is a pain if its not setup as removable.

Looks very nice.

not to mention the stock head....that Milltek I had looked to have the same size ports as stock (which are a little smaller than the head exhaust ports)

From the picture, it is 4 into 1 design. Awesome looking piece.

What will be the size of the end pipe? 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 ?

Will we be able to change the cat later on if it fail, or any option to swap out the cat and put the test pipe on ?

And lastly, could you put me on the waiting list.

Grassroots Motorsports Magazine just did a catalytic converter shootout on the Miata. A couple cats actually dyno'd slightly better than a "test pipe". Today's cats don't have the acoustic/flow rate restriction they used to.

Jan - new "modular" header looks very nice so far! Keep us updated on availability and pricing!

I know Paul Webster has done similar tests as us and has found the same thing, cars with cats "typically" made more power than cars without on the supercharged cars.

We worked hard on getting equal length piping instead of what you see from the rest of the standard length header designs. Performance is still our main concern

I hope to have pricing by the end of the week. We may be able to offer one with a V-band for the cat section but expect to pay another $100 as we use the highest quality racing V-bands you can buy

this one will fit the standard catbacks without modifications

the tubes are shorter than our racing header but still longer than the other "short" headers to take advantage of the torque curve

the collector is a less expensive merge collector unlike the NASCAR/INDY car type on the race header .... No V-band on this one unless you specify one

Cool. When you can, you should post a pic of the two next to one another so one can appreciate the differences.

I plan on it... this pic was a "sneak" peak at what the concept of the header is. The merge collector was a chopped up one off a 426hemi that we had lying around....LOL

the finished product will be a custom made one only for us
I will post some pics of them when we get it done
