The header is full stainless and comes in a raw form. Similar to the pics Jan posted. It would be up to you to get it ceramic coated. Polished is a wast of of money unless you don't plan on driving the car .

I just wrapped mine with Thermo-Tec Copper wrap

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$

Not really. The price is amazing once you figure in the fact that's it's a fully built race engine with only the best components being used. I wasn't a fully built 1.8L with the all the goodies to use with the Rotrex once my poor little 1.6 dies on me.

Agree on the polish, it looks nice until you actually use it. Or maybe could get it chrome plated and watch it turn blue.

I like the ceramic coatings, but have no clue as to how much of a cost adder it is. Don't even know if I can find a shop in my area to do it properly.

Thermo Tec Copper wrap, huh? How much is that stuff? So you went with the mummy-look. Is that actually effective? Does it keep the heat in? Keep the engine bay cooler? Will it stay in-place lolng term?
Obviously, I have no previously experience with this product.

each engine is custom done

we are going through multiple offerings

currently we offer only the top of the line custom parts made to handle way more power than you could ever dream of putting through it with a supercharger

we will be offering another rotating assembly that is more cost friendly with CP pistons to make sure you don't have ringland issues

It's about $75 for the wrap
I use it on my turbo drag Mini but not on my GP 2.0L
just make sure you get it wet when you put it on and wear gloves and whatever you do... don't touch your skin with it.... you will be itchin for days

I just had a chat with my buddy about the wrap. He had the up-pipe on his Subaru motor explode due to being wrapped (the wrap held moisture which weakened the metal). the replacement piece he used 'Black Satin', a DIY coating you can get for about $30-50.

I'm rethinking using the Thermotec fiberglass wrap on mine. If Jan would call me or reply to my emails, I could ask him about this (and what appears to be a coating on the piece I just got in), but I'm apparently on his 'ignore' list now

I soda blasted it clean for you
I also resized the collector for you free of charge to better suit the cam and head combo that is now on the car. If you want to coat it with ceramic you can but the ol man says it's stainless, it's fine....LOL

Totally different application. Was the up pipe stainless? Was it cheap? Did it have a bad weld?

Nothing is going to happen to your header. I have no way of testing my under hood temps but with the Rotrex and the other things I've done I can physically tell just from opening the hood that there is less heat. No *****!

SS of course and yes diff app. Blew the egt bung off as it's under pressure and heat loads a MINI never sees (unless 1800F is normal on a MINI)

I don't remember what the other header retails for...?

And I'm wondering which header someone w/ stock head (but might upgrade down the road) would be better off with......

Jan, some help please:
1. diameter of primaries
2. diameter of collector
3. diameter of end pipe (someone asked this one already)
4. Pic of new street header and original race side by side please, with some description of the differences. (this one is already requested as well)
Also, some discussion on the sound please. Should we expect a roar all of the time. Or maybe similar to stock with standard cat back, somewhat louder with JCW cat back, mega louder alta, madness, or some other after market cat back? BTW, is there an RMW cat back?

It'll be loud . Jan loves Loud. He built a cat-back for the race header, not sure on the plans for this one.

I don't know any of the measurements, it's different than my header, so I can't just measure it, sorry .

Jan Sr (Aka JanSr)... I'm secretly a 90 year old man in disguise.

Anyone else getting errors every 30 seconds trying to view pages or make posts?

You mean for my forum difficulties?

It's happening everywhere, not just from home. I'm at work now...

1. 1 5/8
2. proprietary
3. 2.5"
4. can't as I don't have one built yet, the prototype was sent to our mandrel bender for him to bend off of..... patience... I will get some pics as soon as it comes back and built.... No secrets here except for the little things that only the competition tries to steal

Ok, thanks for the response. Can you also help with the db talk? Or maybe you need to get a few back from the bender?

Thanks.........

I would guess similar to the OBX as they both have the same diameter pipe
