I have seen many rear vallences melted (mine being one ) even with some space to the tips.

The bumper plastic IS different to the vallence.
I have had a heat gun for different projects on both ...
the bumper MELTS faster

The tip would need to be a double body type to cool the outer edge ...Maybe CF

and off topic
but to go with those new exhausts, the new audi inspired front end might interest you
(i remember a member in some thread wondering what an audi mini would look like.
if you notice, i made the bumper not so bumperish, its flush with the hood.

(aka, im super bored and have free time to do this stuff in fire works (kinda like photoshop, but not as powerful.)

Now what would it look like if you took the Lexus tips and mounted them directly? Could they be too large to fit?

I'm with you there, The R8 is gonna be my coming home for good present to myself. I'm in Kuwait and there are quite few rolling around here, i had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one a week ago.....TOO IMPRESSED!!...I can't wait to park my RED/Carbon Sideblade R8 in my garage(already priced and saving up for a higher down payment...been saving for almost a year now)!!

Reminds me of a porsche SUV at first. Then it looks like a MINI slammed into a Dodge Charger.

I was under the impression that every r8 was spoken for before they even came off the line...well that's what my friend who works at an audi dealership told me. Doesn't mean you can't get one, you just might have to pay extra...

Did my research before the R8 before it was named 2008 Car of the Year...Paying the extra doesn't bother me for something I want so bad...the good thing is I waited and it might pay off.....TOP SECRET: R8 roadster to debut next year as per Audi Kuwait reps say....I hope and let's not the forget the pic above( AUDI R8 V12 TDI)

It's arriving in 2010 as a 2011 model.

I'm more stoked about the V10 edition, using the S8's engine (most likely the outgoing Gallardo's 5.2 liter). That drops in 2nd-3rd quarter '09.

The pop's has had his 5k deposit down for awhile now. #4-5 in line at Brian Harris Audi for a standard R8, #1 in line for the R8 V10.

That exhaust would look really sweet on a MINI.

Too bad there is a two year waiting list to own an R8. I guess that's what happens when there are only 400 brought to the US every year.

Well since we're on Audi's the A8 W12 tips look really really nice inside the bumper and really fit the lines of the oem grilles on the factory rear bumper of our cars. Problem is they aren't really tips. The exhaust ends before the tips. Its really just a cosmetic piece in the bumper to have the look of tips but no such luck. Tried doing a google image search for a rear shot of one but no luck. Just a thought.
