The pipe would be pressurized as it is downstream of the turbo, so no chance it would collapse. It is pretty thick walled so while it may swell slightly that wouldn't be an issue either. I have one, fits nice, seems to have made a minor difference, and looks a lot cleaner.

Curious, but what are you thinking of doing to your car?

How was the install? Were you able to do it by simply moving the coolant reservoir, or did the upper grill have to come off too (not a big deal, but I hate messing with those plastic clips!)? Did you have to remove the bumper cover or was it enough to get under the car to install on the intercooler side?

Do not remove the bumper. The torx screw for the muffler is a PITA. Need to get access from the bottom. About 1-1.5 hours.

It is much easier the second time. Perhaps you can find a NAM member who has done it already that is close to you to help. I would but I am 3000 + miles away. If you do get to New York City area, I will be happy to help.

Don't be silly, I jacked the car up, you easily access the torx screw from below, use a ratchet torx adapter, move the expansion tank out of the way up top. The whole job including washing my hands took 15 mins. Easy.

Motoring to NYC is tempting, but it will have to wait. In the meantime, any wisdom you can share about this mod would be very appreciated!

If there's anyone reading who'd like to help, send me a PM.

I expect you'll gain some wisdom to share...

I am curious whether mods are linearly additive in terms of their gains.

For example: Chip = 15 hp, exhaust = 12 hp, intake = 10 hp, so I will get 37 hp

I feel that they may not be.

Then you will need to buy one of these, a hose pick:

Thanks so much for that pointer. I was just making the point in an indirect way that you need an objective (track, showing off etc) and a plan otherwise you will spend way too much money.

it is very time consuming to unscrew that bolt from the pipe. well, i tried both from the top and from the bottom....i finally ended up to start from the bottom, then, from the top to unscrew it....you have to get the small but not too small wrech type Torx T25(as i recall) to unscrew it, may be mine is an auto, the space is quite tight and the coolant hose is on its way to unscrew......but finally.............it worths it.....

I noticed that Alta sells this part also and provides new hose clamps. I recieved my M7 tube but did not get hose clamps can the factory ones be used effectively. Secondly it seems this install is much more touchy and time consuming than it seemed to me originally. Does anyone think a dealer could possibly give me a problem with warranty on this part because it seems it is to difficult to easily install and uninstall.
