Just ordered mine. I've been through three of the stock ones in less then
five years and just at 100,000 now. I'm starting to feel like I should have
been replacing this at evey oil change to avoid the fluid leaking all over the
place. Here's to hoping the TSW one will last three times as long as the stocker.

I have a question. In the photo it has that little arm that acts as the new dampener. If we have a 03 model car. Is it possible to order the mount with just the rubber piece in the middle? If so what would be the cost then?

The arm isnt acting as a damper, it does nothing to counteract the torque forces the motor exerts. All it does is maintains the engine position in the front and back direction. The rubber block acts as torque dampener and serves to hold the engine in the up and down direction. If you want to minimize the toque force the most you best bet would probably getting poly insets for the mount that sits under your car.
EDIT: Actually, without knowing how the bolt is sunk into the rubber and how it attaches to the bit comming off the motor is cant say for sure how much it really dampens the torque.

It's a surprisingly fine line between letting a simple product like a motor mount out of the gate too early, and testing and improving it for so long that it is not needed or wanted when, or if, it ever appears. We at TSW are not at all ashamed to admit that we will always be learning how to exercise the best judgment in such cases.
On a separate note, I have no comment regarding the recent exchanges between certain people regarding testing, design, or photos of TSW products.
I will say this, though. The idea to make a replacement motor mount was not my idea. The idea was passed to me by Jeff and Scott, and I do believe that Dustin had the idea in the first place, and asked TSW to give the idea some serious thought. The first e-mail to me from Jeff was in mid-August 2008.
In early September, I passed around the concept design (full CAD renderings) to Jeff and Scott. There is no record of any communication between myself and anyone else regarding the design, so I believe that the design is entirely my own, whether or not anyone else had a design idea, because I did not discuss the design with anyone. This is also true for the tooling I designed for the prototype castings, and it is also true for the Revision A prototype that is now on Nathan's car.
In conclusion, the facts show that:
1. Dustin DID contribute to the project in a crucial way, by contacting Jeff with the idea to create and sell a replacement motor mount.
2. Jeff then asked me to look at feasibility and to make a concept design.
3. I designed the parts, the revised parts, and all of the tooling entirely on my own.
4. Nathan has provided, and continues to provide, a very valuable service by testing both the original prototype and the Revision A prototype at the track and on the street.
TSW has been working feverishly with the machine shop and the rubber casting companies (both here in the U.S.) to get these parts made. Nathan is correct, we do have two very small revisions to make to the parts based on what we observed today. Actual, physical production of the for-sale parts will commence soon after I revise the drawings this weekend.
I do feel that we are taking the time to create a quality product. After more than nine months of design, development, testing, and preparation for production, we are finally on the verge of offering the motor mount for sale. Trust me when I say that TSW will be THRILLED to get this product online and into our customer's hands!

The leaking fluid seen really well in this NAM members pic is the key sign something is wrong. The TSW Mount is a direct replacement part that bolts up to the same places as the OEM. MINI began using this mount on 12-2003 build R53/52/50 MINIs.

Outside of the big mess under the hood, it may lead to more vibration in the body and passenger compartment. Will also lead to the other mounts wearing out faster or being damaged under very hard driving.
We have also seen the TSW Damper front bracket bend on MINI's with leaky mounts more so then others.
It's not a safety issue, that's why MINI didn't recall them, and while there doesn't seem to be any hardcore problem with leaving this failed OEM mount in place IMHO it's only a matter of miles before that parts failure leads to other issues. I've had a bad one in my MINI for 40K now and look forward to less NVH with the new mount.

Installed mine yesterday. As above there is more vibration at idle felt at steering wheel and in the pedals, it does taper off above 2000 rps to were it is almost not felt at all. I did notice that the clutch ingagement seemed to be more stable (if that makes sense).
Also, to all installers a word of caution: when pulling out the e12 bolt (the one under the mount) about a tablespoon or so of hyraulic fluid was trapped behind it. So have a couple of paper towles handy.
All in all a great product and I'm glad not to have to get this replaced every 20-30k miles.

Installed mine this morning. Install is easy. Well made product.
No noticeable increase in vibration. Motor feels more "connected". I agree with the previous poster that clutch engagement is better...
My oem was really shot so this mount was a huge improvement but I it would be worth replacing even a still functional oem mount with this product.
