Temp differential across the intercooler core

I don't know how many of you are logging data or have the AIT probes to monitor temperature differential across your intercooler core, but I'm curious about something. Today in Fresno,CA the high temperature was 101 degrees. At 4pm I had to run an errand across town (surface streets only) & was amazed that the AIT pre-IC at one point was hitting 290degrees with AIT post-IC at the same time nudging 230degrees. As I got up to 4xmph these figures dropped 50degrees respectively but creeped up at slower temps & at stop lights (obviously).

Depending on the circumstances I've seen the temp differential as much as 105degrees across the IC, but these are the highest figures I've seen since gauge install. What kind of temps differential(s) across your IC's are y'all seeing in your respective regions in normal surface street driving & when do you get into potential AIT danger zone(s)?

Note: Probes used in conjunction with PLX Devices SM-AIT pre-IC & post-IC. Web link: http://www.plxdevices.com/products/sm/ait/

Note2: The EGT & A/F modules are hooked up (courtesy of Dr.Steve @ Custom Mini Shop) & bungs will be done sometime next week. After I've logged some of that data I'm sure I'll have some EGT questions.

This picture was taken an hour ago as I got home. Ambient temperature per Mini NAV screen was 88degrees.

These sound high, but very possible. I have seen IC-in temps as high as 250F and IC-out close to 160F. Actually saw the IAT measured at the inlet manifold at 156F yesterday with ambient close to 100F (it gets hot here in Albuquerque on the commute home!)
As I have reported previously, I often see a drop of 130-140F across the IC when moving in traffic but it quickly disappears at the stop light. Fortuntately it re-emerges once moving!
I'm glad to see that you are logging data. I find it interesting as an activity in itself (I've been analyzing data since high school for a living so it comes naturally), but I feel like I understand my car a little more. (It's like wearing a heart rate monitor while exercising--you learn a lot more about yourself that in unavailable any other way.)

Any way, keep it up and keep reporting please.

I will be posting up a similar thread as soon as we get the data sorted out.
For some reason the sampling rates on our logging software went from recording once every quarter second to once every tenth. We have a mountain of data were working thru trying to condense.

We did see numbers similar to yours when moving thru town. Your using the stock IC I'm presuming?

I remember the craziness in the data-logging thread, which is why I'm leaving my IC to be mystery part "x". (Note: I have posted it elsewhere. I'm choosing to keep this thread about the numbers & not to get into a vendor rock throwing contest.) I'm just wondering on average what kind of high's pre-IC & post-IC people are seeing. Thanks for doing your own data-logging. I'm excited to see the numbers you've compiled.

I don't have ic in numbers... but the highest iat's ive seen were 180 on the track at sow when it was a 90 degree day. typically for street driving i see 90 while moving and 140 when stopped in 90 degree weather here in the OC.

Are your bungs in the horns?

Since my post-IC horn's already tapped for NO2 & shortly for methanol, the probes are at the leading edges of IC inside the housing.
