A head and a tune.

I was about to post that,

but it's already in HighLifes sig!

If you do the math, a head and a tune seems really expensive, $2.5k-$3.5k, depending on how much work you do yourself. But look at the real power added, and it's the best deal out there.

Other answers is some suspension stuff, and the real best answer to make all your cars faster: performance driving lessons!

RMW: Cam $400, Header $850, & Tune $500. IF + installation = $2100. If money is OK then go with head+headers+tune.

Jan told me to do that too...i.e. rmw cam, headers, exhaust, tune, along with 15% pulley (didnt need bigger injectors nor CAI)...

However, I am hearing that without a ported etc head, a cam and a header wont do much, especially given that i will be going stoplight to stoplight and want low end over top end...and that i would be better to spend my money on a 1) CAI 2) Magnaflow 3) 15% pulley and 4) RMW Tune...

Also hearing its a big job to change the cam/header, 6-8 hours of labor...is it worth that much more to go with the RMW cam/header/exhaust combo?

I will be getting a jan tune regardless...

In addition to what's already been said, lightweight wheels can make a big difference, especially if you're running 25lb S-lites.

How much labor is required to install a header? I know a cam job is about 4 hrs...

CAM job is a day in the garage...

if you're handy with tools you don't need to pay anyone for it. If you do the cam job and don't feel like you're over your head, then you can probably handle the head job as well. It's not really that hard either. If you can handle the labor, you can save a lot on these mods.

header is a bit less time, but it's harder access. And it depends on if you can get it past the subframe. On my OBX we had to undo some subframe bolts to get the room to get it in, but the OBX is a cheap knock off and isn't dimensionally consistant.

But really, if you're thinking of a high dollar mod, resist to do anything but the pulley and maybe a tune till you've saved up for the big ticket items.
