I am not sure about the question?

You can use Simple Green on K&N, Uni, and foam filters. There is no cleaner for a paper air filter that I have ever seen.

OK then Simple Green is cheaper works great for cleaning and will not hurt the K&N filter. I would stick with K&N oil when finished cleaning it. And if you want to be different Ford Motor Sport carries there house brand(they get it from K&N) oil for there K & N filters and it is blue.

Ya sorry I did seem to confuse things. Simple Green will work to clean any foam or K&N filter without harm. If you have a UNI or K&N filter it would be better after cleaning that you stay with there oil to re-oil the filter. If you have a K&N filter there is 2 oil colors availible to re-oil the filter. the traditional K&N red and the one that they sell to FORD Motorsport which is blue. It is kind of neat to be a bit different with the blue because it is not common knowledge that it is K&N oil. And no it will not show the red if you cleaned the filter properly.

I run out of my K&N cleaner but still have lots of the re-oil left. Can you please confirm if Simple Green regular or the Simple Green Pro-series Max?

After you're done cleaning...

Be sure not to over-oil the filter! Too much filter oil can cause problems with the air mass sensor which is downstream from the filter, and might cost you big bucks. Wish I didn't know from personal experience! Problem was on a different vehicle, but the principle should be the same.

Simple Green or Pro Series Simple Green, it doesn't matter... use the cheaper one.

The foam filter is red.. It will conceal the red and make it blue?

Well, I used the Simple Green Cleaner today on my Mini & Honda. It's not as good as K&N but it works. I sprayed and soaked for 10 mins and rinsed with water. I did this twice. It has that nice fresh smell too.

Ahh not sure about. But hey if you use the blue oil on your red filter it might turn GREEN the color of your MINI.

The original simple green is all I have ever used.

hypnohealer when to oil starts run off you got to much oil.
I have done it myself.
After you oil you filter and have covered all the pleats or surface let it soak for 10-15 minutes. The take a clean rag and dap the excess off.

ed955s It is a plot so you by the set of cleaner and oil. they know that the cleaner goes 3 times as fast.
I love the smell of clean parts. No kidding I use my dishwasher sometime to wash parts. think about it? If you spray them with simple green first rinse them and throw them in the dishwasher. They will get hot washed and heat air dried. What could be easier?

I have beed through 3 wives however. They never understood

Used Simple Green on it the other day and it worked great! Only had to spray it once and let it soak for about 10 min, then followed up with the K&N oil. Thanks for the suggestions!
