I have one and love it. The look is trick and the way the scoop has been modified to flow air through it is so sweet. I have not had it all that long but have been looking at them for a while. Ever since I saw the first one on my buddies car way back in 2005.

How and where to buy???

I looked at the GRS website, and forgive my ignorance but everything was in pounds. I was just wondering will they even ship to the US. Also does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price if they do not. Im looking for the newer version with the air diverter welded in the middle. I appreciate any info

I have one on mine and I like it. I did however install it with other upgrades so I can't tell the individual part gains in hp.

Yes, they will ship to any country. I know Graham from GRS is sending one to South Africa soon.

are the GRS people reliable? How much time will it take to be received approximately?

He builds them to order

It seems he builds them to order, and mine was 4 weeks out. I don't have mine yet, but here's a pic of mine that he sent me before boxing it up!!! The intercooler, the plastic piece that attaches to the hood, and the thing that modifies the scoop.

He's actually a good guy to talk to on the phone also, even with his British accent!!! Just keep in mind the time difference between where you are, and where he is... :-))

Its one of the best performance parts that I fitted.
a lot of you guys in the US do not rate intercoolers but if you ran one for twelve months and monitored your tempritures with a scan gauge i think you would invest in a grs.

GRS was tested here along with stock and several others. It did a little better than stock, but not much. Probably worth having if you track the car and live near redline most of the time but probably pointless for a daily driver with the occasional bump of the throttle. And... Yes, I monitor my temps with a Scanguage and the stock IC performs just fine for me on a 17% pulley.

THE test was done with the old grs intercooler with no grs defuser fitted as you no being a mini 2 mod for years.
can i ask you to try a simple test give your car a run down down the freeway then park the car up for say ten mins then go give your car some beans and i bet your car does not perform as on the freeway. but with the grs the car would perform as on the freeway.
when i had the stock intercooler and say i got stuck in the city in traffic the performance would go down hill fast and temps would rise but since i have installed the grs my ait temp is a lot lower
but thats just my two pennys worth.

I have argued this over and over with others and I have had 0 problems with the stock IC. Sorry, but I am not buying it for the daily driver.

Sitting is traffic is going to cause the temps to rise no matter what IC you have in it. However, get a little airflow and the stock IC temps drop off quickly. You simply don't need it for a daily driver and could spend the money elsewhere. That being said, if you plan on tracking the car and living at WOT then yes, it will be helpful but not for the daily driver with little or no track.
