I like Webb Motorsport as well, but I think Randy is a much more recognized brand. I'm leaning toward straight up Randy Webb Motorsport - let's see 'em take that from me!

dirtyredshirt.com/.net/.biz are available

I still like RandyWebbMotorsport.com. Have you been getting any idea of what YOU want it to be? Sure we all have opinions, but I'd like to hear yours. What do you think suits you the best, Randy?

BTW, I use godaddy.com to see what is and what isn't available. It's neat because you just enter the domain without the suffix part. It'll tell you which suffixes are being used and which ones are available. Some sites, you have to put in each one separately.

^^ I agree. Don't let them have it. Maybe after you transition your business to a new domain, put up a MINI racer fan site with no links to for-profit places. They shouldn't be able to touch that! Right?

okay first I've gotta agree with others stating that you should consider keeping the domain name and just putting up some family pictures. why give it to them for free? As for new names how about the following...

http://www.smallcarmotorsports.com - slogan "the site previously known as something more specific..."

http://www.motoronmotorsports.com - slogan (meant to be placed on a tshirt) "I believed in MINI's marketing slogan and all I got was this stupid t-shirt..."

http://www.ubbermotor.com - slogan "what would you say if you got the Bavarian reach around? Ubber dat's gude..."

btw, those are all currently available according to http://www.register.com. seriously, though... I like http://www.ubbermotor.com it's different but not too different from all of the other "motorsports" branded company names.

Hmmmm, what's MINI-Madness and MINI-Mania going to change their names to? Or is BMW being selective? Suppose Moss-MINI and Mini-Stuff will also have to change....

Can they really trademark "Mini" or is it just "MINI"?

Randy,

How 'bout "Speed-Addicts.com"? I know I am, thanks to you!

I could really identify with Shoebox Motorsports, course then you'd have to work on old Fiat 124 and 128 sedans, the "original" shoeboxes. Luv that shoebox name. Its better to switch than fight on this one.

My vote is for Webb Motorsport, although I do agree that "Randy" is a very well known/established name in the MINI world! Whatever you decide, I definitely think "Motorsport" is good to keep in the name. (AND this way I only have to peel off 1/2 your sticker from my MINI! )

^^^ I like Randy Webb Works or Randy Motor Works. I do think Argo got it right with: "Flying Brick Motor Works.com? Could be referred to as F-BMW for short?"

If traditon needs to prevail, though... I say RandyWebbMotorsport.com or do as bridger does and make it RandyWebbMotorsport.com/MINI

Just my $.02

Mini Mania will not be hassled.

They have been in business... Mini Business, longer than BMW has toyed with the idea of buying Mini from Austin/Morris. A decade or two I believe...

WebbMotorsport.com works - it's brief... les than 15 letters pre.com is ALWAYS a plus
Everyone Know's Randy, why would he need his name in the URL.
If you want to refer to it by his name... why not RandyWebb.com?
the name seems broad enough to encompass more than MINI's
But what do I know? I'm not a slobbering fanboy.

Seriously though...
Chump out the Mini-Motorsport.com and make it a neutral void on the internet... or the Webb. Retain ownership of it... make it a site dedicated to HotWheels or something neat but non commercial.... Or better Yet... Peddle Cars. HAHAHAHHAHA

Good Luck Either way, but remember ergonomics when creating a successfull URL It is YOUR Livelyhood not your Fans.

I like Randy Webb Motorsport, but I was thinking of a more famous stature name like Randy Webb Motorworks. Does that sound too much like John Cooper Works?
Here's another one: RPM-Randy Performance Motorsports.

How about Randy Webb Works. In a few years it may be as well known as John Cooper Works.

How much work could Randy Webb Works work,
if Randy Webb Works could avoid lawyers
and Randy Webb could get back to work?

Whew, I think Randy Webb Works is a bit of a tongue twister.

See ya,
JS

Can we come up with a name which retains MCO? Something like MotoringChuckleheadsOnline.com? That's joke by the way, not meant to offend. I'm sure someone with a bit more creativity can come up with something better.

BTW, I like the "s' on Motorsports, as opposed to Motorsport. Is there a reason not to use an "s" that I'm not aware of?

Yeah, use the S. Use a big, RED S.

Well, there was a ******* law enacted about the same time that the DMCA was created, that stopped people from domain parking, like "FordAmerica.com", so you couldnt just buy that domain to sell it to Ford at a later date. In the laywer point of view, this means that A. Cannot sell MINI items from Mini-MotorSport.com, as it dilutes and confuses brand name, and B. Since no longer selling anything from the site, you must be parking it! Therefore, give it to us, because that is illegal!

OK, so if they are d*cks, and you can't just pay them like $10 for the use (btw, "for the sum of $10 and other considerations" is how most deeds are worded&quot, they had to shut you down completely. It's not like your taking business away from BMW, people will still probably go to them (well, not all people) after the warranties are up, and if someone's car breaks beacuse of what you did (yea, like that's going to happen), they would have to pay big bucks to BMW/MINI to get it fixed.

BTW, RandyWebbMotorsport.com
