Which vendor wants my business?

After having written to several companies who carry MINI products, with few replies and even less success in finding what I need, I'm putting this out there:

If you are a vendor who can get me a red ALTA V.2 intake for my '03 MCS 6-speed within a week or two, PM me.

I've been waiting on one since February, and I'm done waiting. PM me, and I can almost guarantee a purchase!

looks like alta is your vender of choice. I bet any vender could get you a CAI might not be red, but it might work just as good if not better. waiting is silly when spray paint is so cheap these days.....

Not sure really. The fault, I believe, is with ALTA who had the intake on back order and off back order (and on and off and on and off). My vendor that I use is great- Autosport Plus in Canton, OH. Between myself and my friends, we've probably forked over $10K between all of us- and have NEVER had one problem. That is, until I ordered something from ALTA. They've denied it and tried to blame ASP, but I still think ALTA is to blame.

I'm definitely shooting for the ALTA V.2- but you point out a good idea about the spray paint...

I just thought I'd throw this thread out and see which vendor might see it- maybe I'd get something done.

I can only assume you are talking about getting the red hose with the intake, not a red box. I don't think Alta is to blame for this. I think its all the people who want red hoses with their V2 intake. I tried to get the same and have called Alta on it. They said they have the most orders for the red by far and as soon as they restock they fly off the shelves. I had one on order by outmotoring and have again called Alta. They said the new shipment of red will be in in about 10 days - 2 weeks. So either put an order in with Alta or choose another color.
