if you were around at the beginning the vendors were throwing out 10whp figures

one day after me showing the local club at a dyno day they made 1whp.... it went to saying great throttle response..... yeah... right

Jan has tuned my car twice.

First time stopping at 195hp/173tq
15% pully
Alta cai
One-ball
ngk 7 plugs

Second time stopping at 207hp/185tq:
everything above plus 380s

My car is ghetto fabulous. It's the prime example of... go cheap and make smart choices... or go all out.

Dropping the 380's in made quite the difference in stability of air/fuels. You will have no problems putting in the 380's and driving the car for a bit before the tune. I would drive it pretty easy as for some reason my car was running itself a bit lean after adding the injectors. To be honest I was chasing down some gremlins and had a slipping belt that was causing this... however, just for piece of mind take it a bit easy until the tune and you'll be fine.

p.s. ditch the crank pully imo.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering why all the supped up Mini's never mentioned a throttle body in the build lists.

Don't need them, that's why .

People still think no vendor ever sells stuff that doesn't do anything?

Ok, so quick question--the install of the RMW cam--isn't the labor similar to that of installing an RMW head? I know the cam costs a lot less though. I saw in another post of the 10hp/10lb tq from the cam alone--that's pretty interesting, but if the labor is similar, seems best to do it all at once?

(edit...) Never mind, just saw that Minicorsa charges half to install a CAM over a head--so that looks like might be a next mod.

I thought I read someplace on here that doing the cam isn't really that hard. If you changed your SC pulley then you could do the cam. Jut a mention I remember about making sure the timing chain didn't drop down. But If I read right you just lift the motor up like you would do in the pulley change and you can get the cam out.

Based on where the cam is, it's inside the engine..so not M exactly sure how a pulley which is front and down low is related? Maybe it's comparing a similar level of labor?

Cam is a LOT easier to install than a head. All you need to do is open the valve cover.

Thanks, yes I understand now..it makes complete sense. Then two follow up questions.

1.)Is Minicorsa selling the cam?
2.)Will I need to figure in the cost of another RMW tune after the cam?

1) Jan has cams, Danny is/was sold out.

2) Jan is accommodating. If you've paid for a tune he'll work something out with you for a tweak. Give him a call.
