You're absolutely right, Morbius. I've mentioned hosting Way's site and e-mail in other threads, but I definitely should have included it in this thread when things started getting ugly.

I'm also in talks with some other vendors on NAM about hosting and other ecommerce services, and will make sure in the future I reference the association in any posts concerning their products, because they will be paying me, unlike Way . I'm providing this service free of charge to Way as a friend, so any cash flowing between us goes from me to him, just like the other customers

The other associations I have with WMW is that Way orders his serialized engine badges and other promotional products from my wife's company, and Matt Jensen, who helps Way out at big events like AMVIV and MOTD, is driving my car in STX this year

I completely understand why you would think I was part of WMW, and I'm glad you brought it up in such a professional manner.

Now, back to the exhausts...

I also agree with you that an independent review of the exhausts would be a great idea! It sounds like the perfect subject of an article for the NAM magazine. Have categories for the subjective stuff like tone, build quality, and looks, and objective categories for volume, weight, and performance. Maybe we can hire the Stig to drive the test R56?

Bill, with regard to that turbo wrap, make sure you report your results on the "Lowering Underhood Temperature" thread.

Thanks

Terry, Thank you for your honesty ! Nothing wrong with the barter system, done it for year myself and host companies on my servers also. Heck, got some of my best lathes and mills that way Besides I am Italian and its in our blood to barter and haggle !

Now lets see if we can do some scientific research on what the output of these exhausts are which does what and how to accurately reproduce the tests !

As a new exhaust is next on my list, I'd love to see a head to head comparo done. At the dyno, strip, track and/or street ... anywhere would be great!

Heck, I'd even be happy to see a few of the cars with different exhaust get together and have the people trade off and see what their thoughts are.

Couldn't be anything but helpful to us consumers and the vendor as well.

A peek inside the two downtubes. I tried to correct for bad lighting.

Relatively smooth with no obtuse angles or obstructions:

Not so smooth with sharper angles and sensor mounts that protrude into the dynamic area:

Good lord. Way probably has one in the shop but I didn't think of that.
I like his shop (lots of vintage cars there) but I don't like going into town to get there....

I have been so busy getting other stuff out to market that I don't have a full production one done yet.

we had one on a car but the guy flipped his car in the canyons and totaled it

insurance kept the car so it has thrown us backwards in finishing the project
we do have the jigs made and it's ready to go to the tube bender but we have our race headers and regular catback length being bent again as we are fresh out of pipes.

I expect to have tubes bent soon, our fab guy can only weld up so many systems as each one is hand finished with incredible welding

We only use the highest quality racing V-bands you can buy

Well on the bottom pic of that downtube, talk about a BIG mistake !!

1. Those bungs for the sensors should NOT be protruding in so far, that will cause un-wanted turbulence.

2 The mount surface sucks ! I would have flared the end out slightly to make sure the opening to the turbo and the exhuast does not have a rippling effect causing more turbulance.

The pic looks much better and the only thing I would is clean the mounting edge slightly for my personal perference.

Maybe if you came back to beautiful California and didn't want to spend your summer in the boring desert town you're in Jan would be able to test it out.

Yes, just a little. I am stickler for surface smoothness and making sure flows have the least amount of turbulence. I would also take measurements of my turbo and make sure the mounting point of any downpipe was ported to match including the gasket.

I filed the ports on my header on my GS1100 and got 3 hp. That was "back in the day..."

Of course it helped that that 3 hp represented about 5% of the total output of the engine...

Looks like a nice bike!

you guys got any ideas about hooking up a 2.5 '' downpipe up to a 3'' mid pipe and catback. i was thinking of getting the wmw downpipe and way said he would see about making the mid pipe 3'' for me . with all the talk of the 3'' being to much for the stock turbo i was starting to think maybe i should just leave the mid pipe 2.5''. any suggestions guys? even if i get 5hp i want the 5hp.
