Just thought I'd keep everyone in the loop on some developments in the works.

There will be a switch made available for the MINI that will allow you to switch between 2 (for now) different maps. The maps will be your choice and will include valet, stock, 91 octane, 93 octane, or the new 100 octane race map (currently in development). This will be at an additional cost to the software, but the $690 of the current map will get you all of the programs of your choice.

The unit is in the car now and being tested. There will be a four position option in the not too distant future as well.

So to recap, we have in development a two position switch, a four position switch, and a new race ECU program.

Stay tuned...

This is too cool

Is this a new technological development or has it been done before in other vehicles? :???:

It can be specified with any speed limiter.

This technology has been in place for some time with other vehicles. Both GIAC and APR have similar offerings for Audi and Porsche et al.

Well. Now I have to seriously consider doing the ECU when you are down in Hyannis in addition to the pulley.

Do you think the 4 position switch could be avail by then?

I would definitely have fun throwing in 100 octane occasionally, and having the capability to just switch the ECU mode and be optimized for whatever.

Sidenote: Are you working on only 100 octane...what about 110? <---love the smell!

Cheers,
Ryan

Randy,

Switchable maps are very smart and cool! Nice thinking.

For those of us who just bought the evotech upgrade - an editorial and recommendation:

I do understand that things change and that you are sacrificing margin to split the discount with powerchip for your evotech owners, but those of us who just paid $720 do feel kind of bad. Solution: a great jesture from powerchip would be to sell us their "competitive upgrade" for something like $200. (This is like the rest of the software business). Then the decision to buy is a no-brainer - translate to more net revenue to powerchip through our immediate purchase and talking it up in the community. Even at a $200 discount I have to think about it - and will likely defer. At $200 upgrade price, you have my order. And paying some reasonable amount for the switching option makes sense.

Tell us what you think.

Randy,
In the works = available when?

Rye,
Forget 110, you need yours mapped for rocket fuel.

Ricardo

Randy, is this going to be an actual physical switch? Or will it operate much like Audi/VW et al by using a "soft switch" where by a combination of switches in the car changes the map?

Any work on taming DSC yet?

Paul
