A call to Juston is certainly in order if you are doing this mod. PM me for his number is you want. He's a great guy to talk with, and full of ideas about exhausts (I ended up with his stuff from cylinder head to rear valance!)
You BASTARD
And I get the fiberglass set LOL . I guess the customer really does come first Randy
M7 Tuning
optima battery
The new ad for Optima batteries say they work just as good sideways. I know they are refering to drifting but they are supposed to be spill proof. Would it be possible to use an Optima battery on its side to do away with the battery box?
That's how I plan to do mine. The Optima can be oriented multiple ways.
Ooh, now we're talking'. Much better, oh yeah. Give us a few more shots of those new tips. Are they angled up or down, looks like down, but hard to tell from the one pic. How does the angle look from above? Rolled edge with a straight cut?
I am sure they were dirt cheap too.

I'll take some real photos when I get home, and post.
They are angle cut with rolled edges, made by Flowmaster.
Looking at those M7 diffusers, maybe the resonator would interfere with them?
Having spent too much time under the car, I got to admit those diffusers would be no more than bling--seeing the underside of a LMP car (btw, Sebring is tomorrow!) I bet the only Mini that could ever effectively use diffusers would be the GP version with all its underbody panelling. I wonder if it retrofits to the R53?

Like the new tag line, and you only miss him cause he was an easy target.
BTW, I had a chance to inspect a GP undercladding for a few minutes last week and at a glance it will fit an R53 no problem. A GP is essentially an R53 anyway.
More pics please.........

Looks menacing, but is quieter than stock
He hopes to get more noise after his header is installed
Bought mine today. Going to my dads to start fab on box removal and plate to cover hole.
Dr.Phil are you going to MOTD? I'd like meet you and check out your car along with all you other guys

Well, if Fracky gets a header, the exhaust will be louder no matter what cat-back is on there! My CMC has a different sound due to the unusual cylinder pairing (1+3, 2+4 rather than the stock and all other headers 1+4, 2+3). I have the header, 200 cell race cat, Hushpower II resonator, Helmholtz resonator and CMC muffler all on a 2.5" straight pipe.
I guess the best exhaust is the one that sounds good, but not annoying on the inside, sounds raw and loud at WOT, but doesn't attract the attention of noise ordinance enforcers...
I think my CMC system is getting close, even though like most things, it's not perfect. It's unique, for sure.
4Boogie: I've been trying to get to MOTD for the last couple of years, but it's a real long way for me. I hope we all live long enough to get together at some time. There's a whole bunch of people who'd I'd really like to meet in person. So far I've been lucky enough to meet a handful of great people in person.

It does. But you might as well buy the euro R56 ones since they are about half price than the R53 version and they appear to be the exact same thing.
Alright gang, I've been trying to fiddle with the picture display size so the page wouldn't be taken up my gargantuan pictures. No dice, so apologies for the large formatting. Special thanks to Dr.Steve (Custom MINI Shop), Doug (HyperPipes), the Coast Fabrication crew & M7 Tuning for letting me get my grubby paws on their CF tunnel diffuser before the rest of the world. We'll be at AMVIV so y'all can see it in person in just a few days.
Note: These pictures don't put the dual 4" tips in proper perspective.
Note2: The tunnel diffuser install isn't quite complete (additional brackets need mounting).
