simple mods for more performance?

Hey everyone, just wondering what kind of simple mods there are out there for a 2005 cooper s that might give me a little boost in power and possibly improve fuel economy?

I tried searching, but not really sure what to search for. Thanks in advance.

Get a smaller pulley, and an intake.

Then watch your gas milage get worse.

Mods = more fuel usage

custom tune = improved fuel mileage. The number one determining factor in regards to fuel mileage is how you drive. That said, mine has decreased, sure.

Anyway, "stage 1" power-wise is intake, exhaust, and a smaller supercharger pulley. Half a step up is larger injectors and a tune. After that, expensive land. head, cam, header, etc.

Now you know what to search for.

Try a simple oil, oil filter, Air filter and spark plug change first. See how that helps and then go from there.

thanks guys!

Wondering though, how do I go about having a custom tune done? What exactly do they do? Does it void warranty? How much does it cost? And how much improvement do you see?

thanks!

One ball mod !!! Cheap and very effective. Gas milage also went up a couple mpg...but that could have been b/c i cleared out all the carbon in the used Mini. Then an intake, or the 'minimadness' mod, which just consists of cutting up your stock air box. Fresh spark plugs, and some fuel injector cleaner service will be quite a difference too.

Those 'should' imporve gas milage.

Step one start with a pulley you can't go wrong. Then decide what you want the car to do better after that.

With the below mods my fuel mileage has actually improved about a mile to the gallon under normal driving...... Which is usually when the wife's with me...

The biggest determining factor in fuel economy is the way you drive. Some people swear by intake and exhaust upgrades improving gas mileage, I don't know how true that is. The problem is: if you're like me... you'll just get far worse gas mileage because I can't help but love the sound when accelerating.

Simple mods: 15% supercharger pulley, intake, "one ball" exhaust, and tune.

The Wing, I'm looking to do exactly what you've done. Who did your tune? and what were the TQ and HP results on the dyno? did you have TQ and HP dyno baseline numbers?
