Mods on High Mileage MCS

Nelwy acquired 03 MCS with almost 100K miles. I am considering a few mods to increase performance on the street (15% pulley, custom ECU, Intake), but I am concerned about reliability and the affect on a high mileage engine and supercharger.

I'd love to hear your opinions on what I should consider. I am concerned about SC life at 100K miles, and don't want to make any mods that will compromise reliability and longevity.

I've searched through the forums and found some relevant posts, but most of these are from owners that did some mods early and are now at 100K. I'm considering mods at 100K.

Many thanks.

I've got 107k+ on my '03 and I'm planning more mods. I had the JCW kit put on at around 50k, so my s/c is "newer" than yours. You might just have the compression checked and make sure that regular maintenance items like spark plugs, boots, belts and hoses are in good shape, then go for it. If you can afford the down time (like, you have another car for a daily driver), you could have the s/c pulled and send it out to Steigmeier for a rebuild. They'll also put on a 15% pulley if you send it to them with the s/c.

The high mileage on the s/c is the main thing I'd consider, but I wouldn't necessarily be *worried* about it.

well im at 180,000 and have 19% and all the other goodies that are in my sig and and most all this was done early the 19% after 150,000 had a 15% at 52,000 miles origanal clutch and car driven hard from the begining well after break in that is !!!! mod away and dont worry bout it, things to check are the A-arm bushings and mounts those are the only things i have replaced that looked worn after 100+ also check to see if you have any weeping from the supercharger sometimes the seals give out and you loose SC oil and then your metal to metal and then toast, keep a lookout for that over time otherwise youll be buying another one!
