I would much rather have AWD than just RWD. You could have a differential controller like the STIs come with. How fun would that be to have an AWD rally edition MINI?

But seriously, AWD is better.

Well I love the idea of a rwd or even awd MINI, but it's beyond my wallet. But what about these fender flares **** that is sexy, one of the vendors needs to make something like this.

this has been talked about before. think i satrted a thread on it

anyway i dont think a fornt engined rear wheel drive 'conversion' will be around any time soon. sure custom stuff can allways be done if you ahve the money.

a better solution, and tried and tested on other platforms, is sticking an engine in the back....abit like these guys can nad have done with the original minis

http://www.zcars.org.uk/mini/index.htm

therer are also a coupls of other companise over here in the UK doing this to small city cars.

here is Z cars Saxo conversion. they enginered the package to mount to the strong points already design in the car (eg seatbelt mounting points). some very cleaver ideas!!

Cheers

Chris.
