240+ whp

Yep, it's true, an honest to goodness 242 whp with 201 tq.

Where did it come from...the exhaust. Changed from the Stahl header and 3" back to the RMW header and exhaust.

10+ bump in torque. Very nice. Imagine how much you could have if Jan knew what he was doing.

I had the pleasure of driving it after the work was done and I can assure you, it's even more impressive from that angle!

Nice . It was great seeing you again Nate. I got your call for dinner but it was to late by then. Thanks for the invite though.

Have fun at the Dragon. I think I'm going to plan a trip there next year.

Great numbers Nate That is a nice improvement for just switching exhaust. I guess Jan is not as dumb as some may think

Yes he is. Someone needs to teach him how to use that software.

Do you have RMW cam or non-stock intercooler?

What was ambient temp. at time of test?

Thanks

Cam is OEM MINI.

IC is GP

Mid 60's I think. The tune was preformed this past Tuesday, mid morning, in Wilmington CA. Not quite shorts weather but T shirt was comfy.

Nice going!! Your torque is really impressive. Has your car always been pretty strong for its level of mods? Did you "break it in" with a heavy foot? (really seat the rings well??)

Maybe Now...

some exaust "experts" will STFU about backpressure and learn that pulse velocity and scavaging is king! Too big is just that, too big.....

The bottom end is still OEM.

The car has NOT been strong all along. Jan and I have spent countless hours chasing demons on the dyno and before the exhaust swap I was not able to get above 180TQ and 230WHP. Once the Stahl header was pulled I knew exactly why we've been having issues. The flange was leaking at the #1 and #4 cylinders. Add to that the constant issues with gaskets breaking apart and leaking at the Flex/Cat joint. What I had been running was just to big for the car too. The Stahl was a 1 5/8" stepped to 1 3/4" primaries into cone tapering to 3" cat back. As Doc says above. Too big is just that, too big. BTW, the Stahl header is for sale, don't worry, it's been decked and checked to be sure it is 100% straight now.

24K on the head now. I wonder if thats the highest mileage RMW head out there so far.

3 Weekends in a row of track days Paul. Tomorrow is with Lamborghini Club, next weekend PCA and the following is a run what ya brung deal. I did write about my only other track day so far this year. Thinks keep getting in the way this year. Like I could have done 5 weekends in a row but I'll be going to the Dragon.
