DIY clutch replacment???

The clutch feels fine at 121K miles, but I know the job is in my future. Do any of you reading this have any insight to offer? How much time should I allow?

This will be a driveway type reinstall - no lift...perhaps this is crazy

Thanks,

Michael

I'd like to know as well.....with the current power mods, my stock clutch life isn't going to be as long as I'd like

Well, here's one thing to think about. It takes anywhere from 4-8 hours for a factory trained technician to do it (depending on vehicle). And that's with a lift, power tools and a factory manual at his side.

I just finished a clutch/Flywheel/LSD and it took us aprox. 18hrs mind you for the most part everything went very smooth and had we not stopped for meals and "friends" visits we could've gotten it down to 16hrs give or take.
Best of luck and any problems feel free to PM me.

I guess that explains the $2,500.00 fee from the dealer. I've done a few of these in my past, but from a quick look the sub-frame has to be removed first??? Already done that twice. I would rather drink wine and pay someone...but then, I could by some really nice wine if I perform the work.

Thanks for your insight...I think
