When can we get rid of the Chrysler parts? Anyone have any ideas?

Well MINI is gonna start useing peugot (sp?) engines, since the current engines seem to be pretty good I'd rather have the chrysler parts.

Peugeut engines? Yeh, Id rather have Chrysler but what about BMW?

As rfibanez said, the new engines will be a Peugeot/BMW joint venture. As a matter of fact, John Cooper Works is already working on a tuning kit for the next generation engine.
You definitely won't see them in 2004, though.

the Tritec engine is slated to be used for the entire run of the 1st MINI chassis (through '05). You can expect the Peugot-designed engine to star in the 2nd MINI chassis.

There are no performance-based reasons to dislike the Tritec engine. The move to Peugot partnership was rival-politics between DCX and BMW, nothing more.
