Checkmate's problem

Okay, so I know that a lot of you gave me advice and tryed to help me out with my problem at AMVIV. (I drive the chili red w/ the chequers on the roof and the front light bar) Just to update everyone, I finally figured out that it was a full fuel system problem. First, when I was on my way down I started having troubles with fuel cutting out. I had just changed to 400 cc M7 injectors and just thought that the ECU could not handle it. So, upon arrival, I bought the only set of 380 JCW injectors and new plugs and wires.

Then I went on the Death Valley run, still having problems. Same thing, uber crap! so I went back and started looking for more things. I narrowed it down to an electrical issue. Nothing that was happening was constant, and if it would have been machanical, it should have been a constant thing. Thats just how machines work, as far as I have ever seen, and I have been working on engines of all sorts sence I was 8.

So, the next day I had my ECU flashed and went on the next run. It started to do the same things again. Great! So, after i got stuck turning around up the mountian, long story, I hear you might be able to read about it in MC2 mag, I got to returning back.

It occured to me on the way back that it might be something wrong in the fuel supply system. So, what is there that could go bad? Well, bad pump, but that is a part that is mechanical, and they usually just stop working, not what was happening. Hmmm, clogged filter, but it was to erratic to be something like that. Ahhh, maybe a relay! Bingo, I found the root of my problem.

Update, after swiching my relays I headed off to Cali, and not fixed. But hold on, now it is a very predictable problem, filter!

I remember I got a bad tank of gas in early Jan. and had a hell of a time getting it out and working again. I plan on pulling out the tank in the morning and cleaning out the filter. I predict it will be full of crap. I will keep everyone updated on what happens, but I would just like to say thanks to one and all that gave me advice and helped me narrow things down!!!

UPDATE ON THE UPDATE!

It was also the fuel pump. The filter did need replacement, but the pump was going out. Got it replaced in 30 minutes, and no more problem.

Thanks again to everyone.
