Drivetrain volt exhaust
volt exhaust
just added a resenator just before the loop on vault exhaust and this has made the car a pleasure to drive no drone in car so if you have a header fitted this is the way to go.

Volt Exhaust
Your post gives me hope that the drone is gone.
Thanks.

Volt Exhaust Modification
12" glass pack in the pipe between the resonator and the loop. That's the way to go if drone is a problem. The car is once again a pleasure to drive. I may of lost 1 or 2 in HP gains but the growl and the burble are still there.

The first time I installed the Volt I had that problem. Is it coming from around the rear wheel wells?
I found that after I had driven for a while the exhaust settled on the hangers and caused the outer hangers from the exhaust to touch against the hanger supports. That metal to metal contact from the hangers would click or rattle from bumps in the road. Drove me crazy!!!
I loosened the bolts to the outer hangers enough to get some room between the hanger and the supports. I got some rubber matting (at least 1/4" thick) and wrapped it around one of the hangers (where the contact was being made) and then secured it in place with some duct tape. When I re-tightened the outer hangers the rubber got between the metal pieces and the noise went away.
That was the first time I installed the Volt. I went back to stock for a while and have since re-installed the Volt. On the re-install I noticed that the outer hangers were no longer touching. I'm keeping an ear out to see if it settles again after driving for a while.
Let me know if that helped.

..........make sure the pan under the battery box is not touching either. That was another adjustment I had to make. It's really thin stuff and is easily distorted while handling.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I had an annoying rattle as well. It turned out to be the middle hanger that holders the resonator in place. The cross bar that goes through the bushings was rubbing on the heat shield and making the interior rattle. Check those and put a plastic cap over the end if that's it.

From the pics it looks like the new resonator may not have much clearance from the heat shield. Since the only two hangers are right behind the cat and between the rear tires, your new resonator may be vibrating against the heat shield. The solution then would be to have a muffler shop install an additional hanger somewhere close to the new resonator.
hi zeus, the resonator is not as big as it looks in the pictures and i was using a zoom lens to take the photo and iwas parked on a tarmack ramp to take the shot. tha last time i looked the clearance was ok.
