I am VERY happy with my Scorpion exhaust. It allows the motor to Rev quicker, I seem to have a significant "seat of the pants" increase in power in the higher rpm range without any noticable loss of torque in the low end. It sounds good. Growly and performance oriented but not too loud. I have ridden is a few Magnaflow cars, they seemed too loud for my tastes. I have put nearly 500 miles on the new exhaust and think it is sweet. I have the pulley and an intake, I think it balances out nicely. I wholeheatedly give the Scorpion two thumbs up. Just my opinion though.

Greatgro,
Bavarian Autosport
Portsmouth, N.H. 03801
1 800 535 2002

I got mine for $494.00+shipping. Also antiseize for $4.95 unless you have some already.

It was on sale two weeks ago, maybe it still is.
The quality is great, you will not find a better value IMO.
Good Luck, Itzamazn

That $494 price is only good till august 31 witch kinda sucks, but $549 is still really good for an exhaust. Does anyone have any numbers, I havent seen any. I have seen alot of video on both borla and scorpion exhausts and if the numbers are in borla range I think I'll save my 51 bucks (that's how much more the borla would be) and go with the scorpion. I like the sound better.

Nice, really happy for you. But you've touched on something I've never fully understood so maybe I'll just ask now... WHY would you expect a loss of low-end torque with an aftermarket exhaust? I have heard it said that the reduction of backpressure is the culprit but I can not see why reducing backpressure would do anything but help performance in every way - provided that the ECU can still maintain the appropriate Oxygen/Fuel mix.

Any thoughts?

Chuck

maybe someone can make a side by side of all 3 of these with pics

so first we can compare looks

compare prices

compare sounds

then compare quality and HP

I know what happens but not why. Apparently, an exhaust can only really be tuned for increased performance through a certain RPM range. Low-end torque requires back pressure to create power. If you don't believe me, take your exhuast off completely and then try accelerating. Very sluggish. So low-torque needs backpressure for power. High RPMs with high amounts of air flow will benefit from pusshing that air out faster since it is probably already leaving at max speed the current exhaust will allow since is so much exhaust. So less a less backpressure, more free-flowing design will help more with higher RPMs. But depending on how free flowing, it might not have enough back pressure to create enough power low-end therefore you could lose some low end torque.

Sorry I can't explain that better....

Low RPM torque requires some backpressure, HP increasing exhausts usually do so by increasing peak flow inversly decreasing exhaust pressure. The Scorpion seems to do function in both situations. (for me). I am happy with it.
P. S. Earlier today, I pulled up to an Acura rice racer. It had gauges down the A pillar, a giant tach with shift light. bumble bee exhaust and it sounded like a waste gate popping off as he shifted. He could not pull away at all up to 100 and then I walked away. I thought they were going to cry. That's right the old guy in the funny little car SMOKED you.

My exhaust arrived yesterday. This evening I slid all the pieces together and took a couple of pics.

Cheers

notpaddyhopkirk,
Hey, looks just like mine. They even sent you the MC hanger extra, like they did me.
If you can find a place to use it let me know. I couldn't.

You will love the system! Itzamazn

LOL...
Maybe I should call them and let them know. They can lower the price even more without that extra hanger!

Thanks for the reply, I admit to having only limited knowledge of fluid flow but basic physics still tells me backpressure is bad (admittedly I'm a theorist by training so this whole experiment concept of yours leaves me puzzled
) At any rate, I managed to find at least one guy who seems to agree with me and here is the link. http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_pr...torquemyth.htm
However, since we all have been jerked around by the UUC vaporware I'll understand if this article is taken with a Gibralter sized chunk of salt.

Just trying to learn something here.

Did you install it yourself? How easily did it go on?

Yep,
Installed it myself with the car on jackstands and me on a creeper. It was a pain in the butt! The main difficulity was in getting everything lined up, the tips centered and nothing bumping the chassis. If I had it to do all over again, I would have paid to have a pro install it for me. My tips are just slightly missaligned, although I am sure nobody notices it but me.

Other than that, I like the exhaust. It sounds great and it looks great.

heres my problem with this exhaust and maybe others.....why does it split into 2 mufflers.....that seems to me that it would be a waste of air restriction.
