Who has the Alta Exhaust?

How do you like it? I am thinking either the Alta or a Milltek exhaust. I have read the Alta is a little quieter than the Milltek which I like.

Anyone have any sound / videos?

Thanks,
k

i have the alta and am very pleased with it, it's louder and deeper than stock and the pops are even better when shifting gears. When the valet' bring my car around to the front of my building i hear the car before i see it. check out youtube, i'm sure there are some videos of both systems for you to compare

i was under the impression that the alta was the louder of the 2, a result of being single sided (only 1 muffler)...

it's louder than the milltek.

this is mine with the alta header+cat so it's going to be quite a bit louder than with the stock cat:

Thanks for the video post. Adding a header is going to make any exhaust a lot louder though right?

ive got the alta header with cat and the catback, it is very loud but sounds fantastic, the pops between gears and randomly when coasting are one of my favorite parts, the butt dyno also proves nice results

I had no idea a 4cyl could sound that good. I mean, yeah, a lot of them sound good, but that entire combo sounds good.

Hey folks, just my worthless two cents, but I want to be sure apples and apples are being compared (not saying for sure that they aren't!)

My aural experience with the ALTA R53 systems have been more mellow than the Milltek. BUT, I am comparing OEM header to OEM header being ahead of the cat-back.

It may be that the ALTA with any header may be louder than the Milltek with header. If that makes any sense.

We have tried to reduce any resonance and drone at freeway speeds, while still maintaining a soulful burble at idle and WOT.

If I can help in anyway further PLEASE let me know!

Alta with OEM > MillTek with OEM. So much so that my wife said 'WTF? That's obnoxious!!' - she had a MillTek on her car and she thought my car was nuts. Fitment on the MillTek, for me, was 100x better than Alta. I know others have had some issues with how far the MillTek extends out....easier to deal with than crooked tips offcenter

Alta's fitments seriously needs some improvements... i had one side crooked like 'something' and i fixed it up..but now its sitting off center... i guess thats better than the tips dragging on the grounds tho...

anyways, i'm satisfied with how it sounds tho.. btw, anyone experience some crazy turbine noise when your flooring @ high speeds? i know the single sided exhausts are known to make turbine noise but mine seems a bit excessive.. (sounds like the exhaust is about to shoot out or something.. 'chuchcuhcuhcuhcuhCHUUUUUUUUUUCHUUUUUUUUUUUUCHUU SHUSHUSHUSHSH' )...

Not making excuses for the earlier systems, but the ALTA systems now, have no tip centering concerns. More adjustments and easier to install than previous, but by far better now than before.

I am surprised by the noise comparisons, though and I do respect your opinion. If I can find a local car with that system, I would like to hear it.

Thanks again!

just a thought to ponder...it's easy to say a mea culpa now, but it would be more appropriate when people call to discuss fitment issues to acknowledge the issues exist. The Alta/Perrin line is always 'it fits fine on our test car'. Well, I don't own your test car, so, that's not much help now is it? I realize and appreciate you guys are trying to improve products, but to quote Robin Williams, 'Denial is not a river in Egypt'.
